Wow. I watched an interview with Drew where she said they spent a lot of money on formula and less on adverts. Good job, girl! This foundation is absolutely lovely. I am 62, very dry with lots of wrinkles and visible pores. This makes skil look like satin. I am NC20 and L2 is perfect. Will repurchase.

Shade: LF2
Me: About an NC5-10.
If you have porcelain skin & need a drugstore foundation with yellow undertones, please give this foundation a shot.
It doesn’t come without its limitations, though.
Coverage is decent. Medium for sure – which is the claim. I’d call it Girl Next Door coverage. The formulation kind of reminds me of the newly-reformulated Revlon Colorstay: makes skin look nice, but not necessarily flawless & poreless.
I’ve found About Face doesn’t play well with powder applied over it. It also doesn’t mix well with the two foundations I tried. Expect marks on your nose from sunglasses.
Flower Beauty hit it out of the park by not making the fairest shades pink or peach. I could pour the entire bottle on my neck & chest and you wouldn’t see it – the match is that good. Hallelujah. Plus, no breakouts from this – my skin likes it, I can tell.
** 2/3/18 UPDATE:
1.) Flower Beauty changed the ingredients of this foundation some time ago, so the ingredients listed here are inaccurate. (A cyclic silicone is now the second ingredient.) This formula change is not reflected on the Flower Beauty website, as the ingredients are omitted on that product page altogether. In fact, ingredients are listed on all other Flower Beauty product pages except for About Face. Furthermore, on the foundation’s Principal Display Panel (PDP), one is unable to view its ingredients in-store – not only are they not printed on the glass bottle itself, there is neither a tear-away tag nor tape affixed to the container bearing this information. Ingredients are obscured inside/under the cellophane packaging & viewable only after said packaging is torn open & then presumably discarded. I retained mine & uploaded a pic of the current ingredients here.
I predict that About Face foundation is being discontinued amid Flower Beauty’s 2/18/18 Ulta launch, their not-yet-released Light Illusion Liquid Foundation will replace it, & Flower Beauty line will be fazed out of Wal-Mart entirely.

Fairly decent color range, but the lack of testers mean you don’t really know what you’re getting until you test it at home. Definitely in the more yellow category, which is good because d/s foundations are always so pink or orange! That being said, this went on chalky and patchy, and had a weird separated oiliness to it, even when I’d shake it up. Also, the shades are much lighter on the skin than they are in the bottle when you’re just eyeing it. Considering this is about $13/bottle in store, it’s a bit on the pricier side for drugstore foundations, and not worth it. I have ELF foundations that perform better. My face has been feeling dry and tight all day as well. I’ll be returning it for sure.

Finally, a yellow drugstore foundation!
This is a thinner but buildable foundation that is great for those who don’t need much coverage but if you’re looking for full coverage, this is probably not the foundation for you. I would say it can be built up to medium coverage but it cannot be as full coverage as Kat Von D Lock It for example.
I normally wear NARS in the shade Gobi so I picked up LF2 because it looked similar to Gobi in the bottle. I was surprised that when I swatched it at home that it was significantly lighter. Curse the lack of testers at the drugstore! It looked more similar to NARS Siberia (but don’t quote me on that since I don’t have Siberia to compare next to it). I think LF3 would be closer to Gobi. I’m currently wearing LF4 because I got a bit of a summer tan going on and it’s a great match. The past few weeks have been 35 degrees Celsius and up with 70% humidity and the foundation has worn well in this weather without melting off significantly. At the end of the day it’s not as “fresh” but still pretty intact so that’s great.
This foundation looks best when applied with a sponge. With my hands it seems to look patchy and weird. If I want to be lazy I usually go for tinted moisturizers instead so this is the kind of foundation that needs a little more time. That’s my only gripe.
Other than that, I will continue to buy this foundation as it’s the most affordable yellow foundation I’ve found so far.

I was super excited to FINALLY find a shade pale and yellow enough for my extremely pale, yellow skin… and super sad to discover that I can’t use it.
First, the color range: I love it. In a sea of orange and pink foundations, the Flower makeup line is the only one that has offerings that look even remotely like my skin. Great for olive tones from Siberia to Nigeria.
Second, the texture: I hate it. I am BAFFLED by the reviews suggesting this for very dry skin. My skin tends slightly dry, and this makeup went on like chalk. Seriously. I have tried it with primer, exfoliating beforehand, using extra moisturizer… you name it. No matter what, it looks like chalk on my face and makes every little hair follicle or bump stand out in high relief.
If you are like me, coloring and dryness-wise, you can try Mac Face and Body in C1 (sheer, barely there coverage for a decent price) or Lancome Tient Idole Ultra 24H in 100 Ivore (very full coverage, expensive, shade isn’t exactly right). And if you find a drugstore option that matches, let me know.

L2! This is the best shade ever for my pale yellow skintone! It matches my neck and chest area too! It goes on slightly lighter at first but then blends in with my skintone like magic! Usually foundations end up looking orange of just a lot darker than my chest and neck area after I wear it for a few hours. This seems to look like it matches the rest of my body. This is the most yellow/golden fair tone I have ever used and I love it! Colorstay Buff is actually pink compared to this (what I tried before and the shade just looked so wrong on me even though the company says it’s a warm/yellow tone. I need to get a backup in case the DC or change the shade! This totally works on my Asian skintone!

I’ve had trouble finding a drugstore foundation that matches my undertones. Most of the fair/light shades in drugstore brands seem to run pink (I have yellow undertones). L’oreal true match makes a few fair shades of foundation with yellow undertones, but that stuff seems to melt off of my skin in patches after a few hours, even with primer. Then I tried Flower. You guys, I can’t even say how much I love this stuff. It comes in some VERY fair shades, some of the lightest I’ve seen. All with yellow undertones. I find I’m either lf2, lf3, or somewhere between depending on the time of the year. The formula is thin but has buildable medium coverage with a dewy finish. Very easy to blend concealer into. Does not seem to be fragranced at all, which is good. It has not set off my sensitive skin and doesn’t make dry patches stand out. This foundation can settle into fine lines but I find that if you set it with powder right away that doesn’t happen much at all. The bottle looks so pretty on my vanity with its rose gold accents, and I like that it has a pump (so sanitary!) and it is affordable but a little more pricey than other drugstore brands like covergirl or Rimmel.
Edit: Flower is no longer available in Canada, but if you’re in the US and looking for a good pale-friendly foundation with yellow undertones, give this one a try.

Always glad when I find a drugstore foundation that matches my casper the ghost skintone!
I’ve been using Revlon Colorstay normal/dry for years, but as I get older (I’m 48), I’m not crazy about the finish. At my age you don’t want anything that makes you look older! This Flower foundation has a nice finish and while it doesn’t last quite as long as Colorstay, it still looks good on me after 8-10 hours.

I really like Drew barrymores line and I remember hearing that this was suppose to be a higher quality drugstore foundation, so I decided to go to my local Walmart and buy some. My shade is LF4 and is a perfect match for my nc25 skin, because of the awesome yellow undertones! It’s suppose to have a built in primer with it too, so I applied with a beauty blender the first time and my flat top kabuki for the next. If you want fuller coverage definitely go with a flat top or a buffing brush. I noticed this foundation was medium coverage; I personally didn’t find it very buildable, but I didn’t really need to layer it. Overall, I really like this foundation it wears really nicely on my skin. The only issue with this is that I found that it settled into my laugh lines, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but other than that it is a lovely foundation and I would recommend it!
