FINALLY, my perfect lip liner! Yes, you read that correctly — lip liner. I’ve looked for years for the perfect MLBB lip liner, and this.is.it. I have the Dolce Vita lipstick which matches my lips a little too well (so well that it doesn’t show up!) so I had high hopes for this pencil and the Velvet Matte sure delivered! I honestly wasn’t sure about the matte claim, because I find matte lipsticks so drying, but this pencil is really nice. It doesn’t tug when I apply it and it feels so velvety on the lips — I prefer a very natural finish with lip products (no high-shine gloss for this lady). I like the chubby pencil because I can be less precise with my application, and on me it lasts a good long while (and doesn’t leave a mark on my coffee cup, very important). I bought the mini-size in a duo with a red (Cruella), and I will absolutely purchase the large pencil when I go through the mini — I use it every single day. (Yes, it sucks that you have to have a separate sharpener for the mini-pencil, but just buy it once and you’re good for sharpening both the mini and big sizes.)

I really love the texture of these, goes on silky smooth and even on the lips. The color is a really pretty light warm peach – beautiful! I don’t always have a sharper with me though, which is a bummer when needed. The basic downfall is that it doesn’t last on me more than an hour which is a shame because the color is very flattering and understated. If it was cheaper I wouldn’t mind that much but it does go down too fast.

Dolce Vita Velvet Matte pencil is a warm rosy shade with terracotta undertones, which looks very natural and almost MLBB against my skintone. It is a very classy and polished shade, good for times you want to put polished and put together, but still natural. It has a matte finish, but I don’t find it to dry out my lips. It wears well, and lasts through drinking and light snacking, but you will want to reapply after a meal. It also has minimal transfer which is a plus! It is easy to reapply and layer, as it doesn’t ever take on that heavy or ‘cakey’ appearance. I also have no issues with bleeding/feathering or sinking into liplines. I also find this colour gives me the illusion of fuller lips, which for me is a plus! This is a pencil which requires sharpening, rather than a mechanical pencil however. Though I love the colour and formula so much, it is worth the hassle of sharpening! This is a classic shade for a good reason and I happily recommend it.

Definitely would like to purchase again!
Dolcevita lip crayon is like a dried rose colour which is beautiful.
I would say it will look gorgeous on those girls who just get into a college. I can tell why !
It has such a clean and naive like a next door girl vibe with this color

At first I didn’t really like it because it just look like my lip color which I don’t like. It wasn’t a MLBB for me because it looked like I didn’t wear anything. It didn’t make my face brighter or lively. Until recently I tried it again and I applied foundation that day and it looked amazing! I don’t know why but I feel like I may have to apply foundation to brighten up my complexion so that this color will stand out?

I bought this lip pencil due to the recommendation of my fave beauty vlogger Dasha Kim since we share the same skin type & undertone. However, I was sadly disappointed with this lip pencil even though I really, really wanted to love it. I purchased the NARS pencil sharpener with it just so I don’t have to worry when it needs sharpening but did not expect that it runs out so fast. I’m not sure if I should use a lip primer but this does not show up on your lips in one swipe, nor does it stay long on your lips at all. After drinking water you will need to put it on again. In 2 days, I needed to sharpen it again and found myself scraping the actual product so as to not waste it. Too pricey for the hassle of constant reapplying and resharpening. I’m still 50/50 on repurchasing.
The color is great though and it doesn’t dry my lips. It’s such a great MLBB for me I can’t deny that but I should’ve probably chosen the lipstick version instead. Or maybe try wearing a setting spray next time but again, too much of a hassle.

There’s something magic about this colour, you put it on and it just instantly makes you feel like a knockout. It’s ridiculously flattering on my pale, cool-toned skin, the perfect colour to achieve that “English rose” look. I’m not usually a fan of matte lipsticks because I hate how flat they make my lips look, but this one isn’t thick or heavy, so it’s more like a soft, satiny stain, and you can still see the natural texture of your lips through it. The wear is pretty good, not amazing — like almost any other lipstick, it’s not going to last through a meal, but it does sit on the lips well. It’s pretty expensive here, but that’s a given for a high-end brand like NARS, and I’m mostly okay with the price. The only downside is the packaging. Mine is new so I haven’t had to sharpen it yet, but it’s obviously going to waste a lot of product, and I wish it was a twist-up. But until I manage to find the perfect dupe, I will begrudgingly continue to repurchase it, because I can’t gush about the colour enough.

I bought this lip pencil because of the reviews and I absolutely adore the color. It might be my favorite lipstick color. This makes it even more disappointing that my lips seem to eat this lipproduct. I have to apply quite a bit of this lip pencil before the color shows up on my lips. This means that I have to sharpen the pencil regularly, which wastes even more product. Sadly, the color doesn’t last on my lips either. The formula isn’t overly drying, which is nice. I’ve been looking for a dupe for ages and I still haven’t found an exact one. Charlotte Tilbury’s Walk of Shame seems to come close though (at least on my lips). All in all, I wouldn’t buy this lip pencil again and I’m not tempted to buy any of the other colors in this line. But I can’t mention it enough, the color is absolutely beautiful.

My lips are really dry but this lipstick was smooth and non-drying. It was my first matte lipstick and after that I fell in love with matte lipsticks 🙂
I am olive-midtone skin color and my lips are very pigmented most of the time so it is hard to cover the base color of my lips with lipsticks usually. Nars Dolce Vita is really opaque even its light color tone. Its texture and smoothness is great. I really love the color by the way, it is kind of a pink but natural and charming. It is not really long-wearing. The darker colors in this line are more long-wearing. I think the only problem is the price. You have to sharpen the pencil and you’re wasting some product each time. Also its weigh is less than many other lipsticks. So you are giving so much money for so little product actually. I really like the lipstick but I think I will not repurchase it. I may only try Walkyrie if I am in a mood to splurge my money on a luxury lipstick because of its color but I am not really sure about that either. So if you dont care about the price, it is a hg product but otherwise it is kind of wasting your money.

LOVE this lipstick, mainly because of the shade. The formula is quite long-lasting too, but I find that the shade itself so unique (on my skin, anyway), it just makes me look like a character in a Jane Austen novel lol! Haven’t found anything that completely dupes it, but KVD Double Dare and Givenchy Le Rouge Brun Createur come really close. They just lack a bit of coral in them, I think.
