It’s the best matte lipstick formula I ever came across.
It doesn’t dry my lips; it even feels slightly hydrating. The colors are vivid and very long-lasting. It will live minor stain on a drinking glass, and you’ll need to touch it up after eating (except if you eat with caution). Despite that, you’ll never look horrendous with half of the lipstick gone and the other half left on the outer portion of your mouth because while the product is gone, your lips will retain color stain. Great job, Laura Mercier!

I have this in Metro, which is a bright cool-toned fuchsia. According to the manufacturer, this “Modern matte lipstick so seductive in colour, touch and texture the sensation is irresistible. Mattifying powders and silky conditioners envelop your lips in the softness and comfort of velour.” All true. This takes a “matte” lipstick to a whole new level. Despite being matte by definition (and indeed matte it is), it also gives an extra depth and dimension so the lips don’t appear dry or flat. Unlike many other mattes, this one glides smoothly, is not the least heavy, has great staying power, doesn’t oxidise, doesn’t feather, doesn’t cake and is such a pleasure to wear. It does leave a stain though, but I don’t really mind because it goes off easily with any oil, oil-based product, make up remover or micellar water. It lasted for five hours on me and left a light stain behind, and it was mildly hydrating.

‖ Matt Ridley ” This is one of those lips I will absolutely hang myself on. So incredibly soft and so convincing to give one.

‖ Pat Kats ” I love this lipstick because it’s seamless, on the surface, lovely.

‖ Dr. Mary was the first to review the lip color Vermilion ‘Makeup Fixation’ which is so refreshing and attractive.

Edit1: shade Goals pic posted. Placed another Sephora order oopsies. I own nothing too similar.
Edit 2: shade Boss (dark purple) pic posted I LOVE that one
Edit 3: pic of Respect: my Dream opaque pale nude “concealer lips” look that I love w dramatic eye
I received a sample card (8 shades) from somewhere and ignored for months. It has a super cute mini applicator. Of the 8, Ruthless is what I immediately went to purchase at Sephora (& Respect — not in the 8 sample colors but a very pale nude like MAC fleshpot. I will update review when I try this shade). I simply adore Ruthless as a color on my NW15-ish, fair rosy skin…. Ruthless is a flattering (on me) very pale bubblegum cool toned pink that I specifically will wear alone OR as a base under either: MAC snob lipstick and/or lipglass, as well as Viva Glam Gaga). The formula is the absolute thickest formula I’ve ever seen in my life. I suggest smiling during application as cracks can be seen if ya don’t (or, just apply per usual and then smile, and smear cracks together with finger – that solves problem). Very long wearing on own but will smear if overly abused. Extremely matte. 100% opaque. I love a pale lip sometimes but have very naturally rosy lips so I need a failsafe formula (why I ordered the Respect pale nude as well). Make sure you have hydrated lips — it’ll dry them, yes, but would also show every flake. No long drying time (or any drying time — they’re dry as a bone already). No weird oxidizing darker like Fenti Stunna. I also love samples of (but didn’t purchase….. yet) (1) Boss. It’s an unusual super deep purple. I’ll get a pic up of it on the lip when I wear it next. (2) Fatale is a nice MAC Sin-type shade. That i will not purchase as I have many similar. In the samples are also a red, both a warm & cool hot pink, and a warm & cool version of MLBB-type shades (but DARKer). In the 2 pictures I’m posting in a minute, I have on Ruthless on its own no other product (natural light and flash — as it looks very different in flash). Oh and I rarely use a liner & seek out lippies that render them unnecessary. I am 40 year old smoker of 25 years sooo….. that’s a bonus as well. I’m the one with short blue hair and an extremely pink “look” including eyeshadow. Haha. Can’t miss me if ya tried unfortunately.

I haven’t tried new Laura Mercier lip products in what seems like ages now, so was pretty curious about her new Velour Extreme line.
I am a classic lipstick girl, love a good matte. These are perfect for me for a plethora of reasons, but a few things worth mentioning are: great pigmentantion, extremely easy application (no lip pencil needed), amazing colour selection and great wear. These do transfer, but you can always touch up/reapply on the go, they are so user-friendly!
I have a few lines on my lips and these never settle into them. Perfect! Don’t feel drying, look amazing. Great product! I have unedited, raw hand and lip swatches in a separate review here for those of you interested in this new line ( hope it helps!

I bought this in Queen, and I loved the formula so much that I got it in Vibe a few days later. Its a little expensive, but it looks amazing, wears well, and it feels great. I love the look of a matte lip, but I hate how dry most products are. This is the most comfortable matte I’ve ever encountered.

I was really reluctant when ordering this product, because I haven’t had the best experiences with matte lipsticks. BUT it is unreal how matte, pigmented, and smooth it is. I am convinced that this is one of the best mattes I’ve ever used!

The Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick is a lipstick that feels light as air on the lips and isn’t the least bit drying on the lips. For those of you who have avoided matte lipsticks because of how drying most of them can be- give this one a try. I like that this is moderately-pigmented and it also has no flavor or taste to it. This isn’t too much of a one swipe lipstick but it does build easily and lasts quite a while. I purchased Fierce and it was a true dark brown. Definitely a formula I can appreciate and use regularly.
