I’m surprised at the bad reviews. I have this in “Wine Me”, which is really a bold pink on me. It applies fairly shiny, lasts through a meal for me, and becomes almost a stain as it wears off. I will admit that I don’t have many liquid lipsticks, because I tend to not like them, but I do find myself reaching for this one. I don’t think it’s hydrating, but it is not drying on me. I’m a fan!

It’s dries down to a matte lip, is not that shiny or plumping. But it doesnt dry out my lips and the colors are rich.

Have this in the shade “Honey Do” which is a flattering warm nude on my light olive skin. This product claims to be glossy, which it is…for like 20 minutes? It dries down on to me a matte as if I used a matte liquid lip. Although it does not stay glossy I still like using this. I suffer from chronically dry lips and always avoided matte lips, but this product is still comfortable and does not accentuate any dryness on my lips. It’s looks nice and smooth and the colour is opaque and stays for several hours.

I bought this in “Lights Down” which is billed as “russet” and lives up to that – it’s a rusty brown/red/orange. I really liked the smooth texture and how pigmented it was. No strong smell, good coverage. Downside was that it feathered into fine lines around my mouth. Too bad because it’s a really nice choice for a liquid lipstick. Might be a better choice for younger people. No plumping action that I could see.

I have this in Wine Me, which is a rich ruby red. Color is saturated and has a good shine. Long lasting and has a slight scent. This is not a good color match for me.

What a disappointment!
-It isn’t shiny
-It isn’t pumping
-It isn’t long-wearing
-Pigment settles into lines
-It doesn’t properly adhere to moist inner lip so you get an unsightly line
-You need to apply carefully
-It looks dry
-Make Me Melt is not brown at all on me. It’s red.
This is truly like liquid matte lipsticks on me, but less long-wearing. I can’t understand why it’s marketed as a shiny, plumping lipstick. Really hoping this grows on me, but I doubt it. It simply doesn’t look good and doesn’t last.
Maybe I have a dud?
For a cheaper and much better alternative, check out L’Oreal Infallible gloss. Rebel Red and Raisin are awesome and last all day. Just wish they had more shades!
UPDATE: Wow, I had a moment of weakness spotting the shade Getting Warmer at Sephora and gave in, which I normally don’t after a bad experience with a different shade. This one is so much better. The brown shade is so practical, it lasts and feels comfortable. It’s dark enough to show on my pigmented lips, but not dark enough to leave a nasty line. Still one point off for transferring a lot and not having any plumping effect at all. But for a liquid lipstick, the pigment does last better than most. I’m likely going to use this a lot. Too bad the quality is so inconsistent!

The new Buxom Va-Va Plump Shiny Liquid Lipstick is a very welcome (and needed) addition to their collection of liquid lipsticks. This lipstick is very hydrating, long lasting, and pigmented. This “dries down” to a very nice hardly-there shine. This stays on lips for hours with minimal transfer and eventually this fades very evenly. The lipstick doesn’t have much taste to it. The plumping claims are definitely exaggerated though. And FYI- the lipstick is definitely brighter than it looks like from the photos online. My more detailed review and swatches can be seen here:
