I have these in a ton of shades and I absolutely love them. I’ve found that the formulas vary with the different colors; some are very thin while other colors are a little bit thicker. They are long lasting and not drying. I typically only need to apply this once in the morning and the color will last all through my 8-hour work day. Also, these are very pigmented so there is no need to stack on multiple layers to get the best color payoff. There is an endless selection of shades and since they are so affordable, I usually order quite a few of them at a time. These are easily my absolute favorite lip products.

Overall, these are a miss for me. I’ve tried three different colors, and each tube behaved like a slightly different formula, and each color behaved unpredictably, too— as in, what arrived in the tube didn’t match the swatches on the Colourpop website, and what dried down on my lips didn’t look like what was in the tube! A few things they all have in common: A tendency toward dryness and emphasizing lip lines (Colourpop appears to use people with artificially enhanced lips to model most of their products, so it’s impossible to tell how they will look on natural lips), and a lousy applicator. (It’s a doe foot, but it’s too large and picks up far too much product, making application messy and imprecise. I have to take great care not to obliterate my cupid’s bow.) These are the colors I tried, and my experience with each:
1. SPEED DIAL- CP says “warm dark peach”, but it’s terracotta brown on me. This was the most drying formula of all, resulting in some flaking and the dreaded wrinkled “hot dog lips” look, even with just the thinnest coat. Seemed like it would wear a long time, but who would want it to when it looks like that?
2. BUMBLE- CP says “warm rose”, I would say it’s a very deep rose, almost berry. It applies much darker than it looks in the tube, but it’s a pretty color that seems to have a lot of loyal fans. I prefer the matching pencil on its own, as this formula is fairly drying, wrinkling the lips slightly and leaving a very visible “line of demarcation” at the inner lip. It wears for a long time and doesn’t transfer, but it tends to pill up after a while.
3. LITTLE ONE- CP says “dusty nude”, I say ghastly greige. This formula happens to be very good, however— the best of the Ultra Matte Lips I’ve tried. It has a soft, almost powdery feel, and is comfortable, minimally drying, and transfer-proof. If only all the UML’s felt like this! But the color looks terrible on me and is nothing like the photos. This is one of CP’s newer colors, which lends credence to the rumor I’ve heard that they’ve reformulated and improved their UML formula, stoking my curiosity just enough that I’ll probably buy one new color in the near future, even though I have a losing record with these so far.
On the whole I’d recommend steering clear of these, and trying Colourpop’s Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks instead. Many of those are surprisingly longwear and not sticky nor shiny— you know, probably what you’re looking for in an UML, minus the lip lines, discomfort, and flaking. If you’re a real head for matte liquid lips, or if lip lines and dryness aren’t issues for you, maybe give these a try, but I found them to compare unfavorably to others in the category, including KVD and Sephora.

I had been curious about this for quite some time and I ended up buying it in the shade “Creeper.”
My only issue with it is that it leaks a little bit in the packaging, but for the price and formula, I can overlook it. It’s opaque and not drying. I wouldn’t say it’s 100% transfer-proof but it lasts me throughout the day.
I would definitely get this again. 🙂

Holy moly these liquid lipsticks are SO good!! They are super pigmented and opaque in only 1 swipe and they are so long lasting! It’s completely transfer proof even through eating. It lasts for 10 hours and I’m so blown away by the quality of these liquid lippies. Color selection is really lovely too! I’ve bought 3 shades, Creeper, Mama, and Fresh cut. These are hands down much better than Tarte lip paints liquid lipsticks, the Tarte ones don’t even last through drinking! And at such an affordable price at only $6.50! Colourpop is my new favourite affordable makeup line, I love their brow pencils and super shock eyeshadows too! A must have!!

The color Mama is an exact dupe of Lime Crime Pumpkin and Too Faced Gingerbread Man. Less drying than Lime Crime and less perfumed than Too Faced. $5 at Ulta and on the website. My favorite color, I wear it daily.

I love love love their matte liquid lipsticks. I have tried a few other brands however nothing comes close to this for formula, colors, and price. I like the Sephora liquid lipsticks a lot however they are waaaaay overpriced so I tried these out and loved them. The formula is thin but opaque which makes them work great! I like their mix of colors. When they are on sale they are worth it to stock up on.

I have Colourpop in a lot of shades. The nudes don’t work well with my complexion but most bright reds, corals and pinks are perfect on me. It is so pigmented that with just a single wipe, it can cover my entire lips. It dries up fast though so I have to perfect each wipe. Colourpop is my favorite liquid lipstick for quite a long time already.

At the height of my liquid lipstick craze, this stuff was the bomb. Once it dried down (which was exceptionally fast, so I’d always have to work quickly), it was undoubtedly transfer-proof, but I got frustrated when I saw there was a notable difference between the color in the tube and the color on my lips. I don’t trust color swatches on a company’s website as a rule, so I sought out a TON of YouTube videos to get a sense of what I was buying. Neither of the two shades I got were what I thought they’d be. Midi was a grayish-pink that I could never bring myself to like, and Bumble is described as a “warm rose” but dries way deeper to a dark red on me.
The color issue put me off ordering from ColourPop for the longest time, and I see that since then, they’ve added swatch photos on three different skin shades for most of their lip products. Good on them! But it finally dawned on me that most liquid lipsticks are too high maintenance for my tastes, so I’ll probably sample their other lip products before coming back to this line.

I have this in Beeper. I have mixed feelings about it. I think it’s a very flattering color on my skin tone, and it is very long-lasting. However, it is incredibly difficult to apply (much more so than other popular liquid lips like NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams or Lip Lingeries), takes forever to dry, and, if you apply even a tiny bit too much product, it becomes incredibly sticky and uncomfortable.
You have to use a very, very small amount of product and be veeery careful when putting it on. If you get any outside your lip line, good luck removing it with ease.
However, if you can get the product applied properly, it will be comfortable, not overly-drying, and will be very long-wearing. I haven’t had issues with wear at all, even through eating. It does fade a bit, but not badly at all.
Overall, I’d say that this is a good lipstick for long wear and it holds up to lots of use. That being said, you must be extremely mindful during the application process and make sure not to apply too much product or get it outside your lip line/anywhere else you don’t want it to be.
I am interested in checking out some more shades of these because they are long-wearing and comfortable.

I have ColourPop’s Dopey and November, and with my skintone (Asian light tan, bit darker pink/purple lips), November looks a little bright against my skin, while Dopey sits well as a darker neutral. Personally, I prefer Dopey, as it blends with my skin better. The lipstick is drying (which seems to be a common effect of matte lipsticks), so I usually use it over a lip balm/lip primer. The colour lasts quite long, although it stains very easily unless one uses a primer.
