One of my HG lipsticks, along with MAC Viva Glam I. Cherry Jubilee is Avon’s top-selling lipstick shade and has been around for at least 20 years. My first encounter with it was one of those little plastic sample tubes. I was dating a guy in the ’90s whose mom was an Avon rep and gave this to me to try. It looked blackish-maroon in the tube, but when I dabbed it on very gingerly, it turned into an absolutely gorgeous vivid blue-based red!
The versatility of Cherry Jubilee is exactly what I love about it. Apply very lightly (press onto lips from tube or dab with finger) and you have a very long-wearing, matte blue-red stain. Apply full strength and you have a luscious vampy deep berry. Women of color look really fantastic in Cherry Jubilee. It’s great for almost anyone, depending on how you wear it. One tube will last FOREVER. I’ve even made tinted balm with it by melting lip balm in the microwave with a tiny chunk of Cherry Jubilee. Very fun product.

I don’t like the way the color sits on my lips. It’s almost chalky and creates little balls of were the product has all bunched together in the corners of my mouth. Not my favorite brand nor color.

I adore this lipstick! I have YET to find a red more flattering on me. It looks dark in the tube but when you put it on it a vibrant cherry red (hence the name). Feels so nice when applied and LOTS of pigment so a little goes a long way. Be sure to blot for a more “matte” look. I hope Avon never discontinues this as it can be pretty tough for a woman of color to find that perfect red.

I love this colour. My only complaint is that it bleeds if applied out the tube with no liner and transfers when drinking or eating so I don’t wear it as often as I’d like to. One of the few lip colours I’ve always reordered over the years. I’m looking for a MAC or other suitable dupe however, I’m thinking Diva or Media perhaps only because they’re matte/satin, the staying power would be greater and can be applied out the tube. I’m not really a lip liner girl. Cherry Bomb from Wet N Wild is pretty close too but nothing I’ve found beats Cherry Jubilee.

I absolutely LOVE this lipstick!! I had been searching and searching for a red lipstick that went with my skintone and saw this on Amazon so thought I’d try it out myself. When it came I was very disappointed because it looked almost brown, nothing like the picture I had seen. BUT when I tried it on my finger, I was shocked to find that it was such a beautiful red color! I have been using it since then and have been completely pkeased with the results!! Best red lipstick ever!!!

I love this colour. So much. It’s a gorgeous dark berry red with almost fushia undertones. It’s very flattering and vampy, without being goth-y. Oddly enough, it brings out the hazel tones in my brown eyes and makes my complexion look great. A whole lot for one lip colour. Only problem is the formula. This bleeds like crazy, and is very dry. It’s started to fade within the first hour or two, but it’s still dark right in the lip lines. Will look for a dupe, and if I cannot find one, then I will repurchase.

I have worn this for YEARS! It’s a deep deep highly pigmented berrish color (looks a lot like MAC Media). I’m a DDD and it gives me an instant face lift b/c it’s intense. I wear it a lot in the winter months since it’s so dark and intense. All day wear.

Pigmented beyond belief! A favorite of mine for about 15 years, even though I am a fair-skinned redhead and by all accounts should stay far away from deep, blue-toned berry shades. I make an exception for this one because it’s really fun and unique: looks almost black in the tube, and its redness emerges like magic on application.
I’ve found a way to make it into the perfect all-day lip stain that’s can be varied from a vivid hot pink to a classic Hollywood crimson (yes, it is very cool-toned and I do have to compensate with a peachy blush… but I get lots of compliments on this dramatic contrast-y look!). I simply place a tiny dab of this on my fingertip, and blend into my lips like crazy. I get a transfer-proof, matte lip stain that lasts hours and hours. Quite a lot of artistic fun for a $7 lippie from Avon. I can definitely see darker-skinned women using this full-strength for a fabulous burgundy sheen.
