This lipstick is just ok for me. I don’t hate it, but it’s not something I reach for a lot. I like that it’s sheerer than a traditional liquid lip. I find it difficult to cleanly apply and I think it goes on easier with a lip liner which I’m not in the habit of using. I bought the shade Doozy which is a warm-toned rose. A nice pink-red. The color works well for me and it’s a compromise between a casual and glam lip. It was a little drying though and I kept feeling the need to wet my lips. Luckily, the formula is long-lasting and fairly transfer-proof so it stayed on through my compulsive lip licking and a few drinks. It does start to pill though and after a couple of hours, it was getting uncomfortable. I definitely have more comfortable lip products that sit on my lips better. Overall, I really liked the color and the sheerness, but because of how it wears I would not purchase again.

I have this in the shade “Cherry on Top,” which is a plum/blue/red/wine type shade. I love it because it has no warm tones and I think it contrasts nicely with my pale/cool coloring and dark hair. This is a liquid lipstick in a tube with a doe foot applicator. It goes on rather sheer but you can build it up for a deeper color, which makes it quite versatile. It does have a matte stain effect (the “blotted” part), which can look and feel a tad dry so I add some lip balm on top. The stain is relatively long lasting and it is quite comfortable to wear. This shade is really beautiful, and it is my favorite go-to these days. Very cheap — under $10. Recommended if you favor sheer blue-toned reds!

This is a much-heralded formulation, but I find it to be just ok. I’ve tried two colors: Zuma, a nude shade that disappears completely into my lips, and Double Scoop, a bright coral that is reminiscent of “popsicle mouth”. I love the idea of a blotted-look formulation, and this one has a lightweight feel and soft, comfortable, non-transferring wear going for it. But it behaves like a matte lip formula in that it tends to pill up, does not look nice when layered/reapplied, and leaves a strong line where it meets my inner lip. It’s not the worst, but given these drawbacks, I’d rather just use a regular lipstick and then, you know, blot my lips.

I have Slide and Love Bite (LE) and did not expect to love them as much as I do. I hate high-maintenance liquid lipsticks, especially ones that dry out my lips, but the UBLs strike a nice balance between long-wearing and comfortable. They’re actually more pigmented than they appear on the website, but still sheer out nicely for a soft, blotted look. They’re also lightweight and transfer minimally. I usually put a balm underneath these, which makes the formula slightly tacky, but also makes my lips less likely to peel.

I didn’t wear lipstick for years because nobody made lipstick that came in a form or color I liked. I’ve since found that I like more subdued matte colors such as nude and peach shades. Must be I’m not the only one because these exact kinds of lipsticks have become more popular lately.
Colourpop is a brand I’ve discovered sort of recently – had heard of them years ago, but never bought from them. I bought one of their Ultra Blotted Lipsticks in my most recent order (in the shade Vitamin Sea) and I am in LOVE! It’s everything I wanted in a lip product – matte but not drying, beautiful subtle color that goes on semi-transparent, and nice pigmentation that’s true to the color you see. Vitamin Sea looks like a sort of a light terra cotta with a hint of pink in the tube, and when applied, it lends a perfectly slight hint of color – like just enough where it could possibly pass for the natural color of your lips (if you’re light-skinned, that is), but also just enough to perk up your face with a little extra color. Perfect if you’re going for an everyday or “natural” look, or if you just want the tiniest pop of color. If you’d like something a little more vibrant, you can layer the product, but I like just dabbing it a little on my lower lip and spreading it around for a, well, a blotted look like the name implies.
The product is very sheer and very thin. It’s not sticky at all, and it’s a bit slippery until it starts to dry, which is relatively quickly. You can definitely see the color and it spreads/blends into a soft, lovely shade. I love the consistency of the product because it allows for more control over the boldness of the color, and it lasts for quite a while too (sadly, it is not kiss-proof or drink-proof).
I really want to try some of their other ultra blotted lip colors, but this one’s gonna be a hard act to follow! It’s a lovely product and I absolutely recommend it for those of us who like our makeup to be a little more low-key. I’d wager you might even be able to get away with using it as liquid blush, given the consistency.

I’ve got quite a few of these Ultra Blotted Lips. I have a couple that I have bought multiple times and others that were a slight disappointment. The pinks in these are all very similar and tend to turn fuschia on me for some reason. Not a fan of those but I think it’s just me that they turn on. They seem to last fairly long and I like how soft it makes my makeup seem, not harsh like other matte liquid lips. I often use Zuma just with some bronzer and it’s a very pretty natural look.
Love these ones:
Halo Effect
Sleepy Eyes
Zuma!!!!!!!
Vitamin Sea-slightly different formula but still pretty
These are the pinks that turn on me but are still pretty.
Split
Cherry on Top-I kind of like this one as it is a darker cherry pink
Soda Pop
Doozy
Slide

I like the blotted lip formula – it’s like a liquid lipstick, but in a much thinner version. I have 3 colors: Vitamin Sea, Doozy and Bit-O-Sunny. I’m about an NC20-25 currently, very yellow-olive skin.
I absolutely love Vitamin Sea – it’s an orange/coral color (I believe the main picture shows it). I’ve always loved orange tones on my lips, and this is no exception. I often wear it instead of nude, to brighten up my face. Doozy is a something between a pink and peach – it’s actually a very interesting color to me: I generally don’t like pinks, as they can make my olive skin look grey in comparison. This one is brightening and makes me look very healthy. Bit-O-Sunny is a strawberry color. It’s darker than the previous two, and can be built up. Not my favorite, but it’s OK.
I really like the lighter colors/the colors that are close to my own lip color in depth (Vitamin Sea and Doozy), but I imagine the darker ones to be a bit more tricky (the way Bit-O-Sunny is on me). The formula of the blotted lips can streak a little, which isn’t visible with lighter colors, but when the color is darker, it can show up pretty easily. Also, when I eat, the fading I get with Bit-O-Sunny is quite unattractive: the warmer tones disappear and it becomes a cooler pink all over, while while the color completely disappears from the inside of my lips.
As the blotted lips are not stains, I can’t really use them over chapstick or lipgloss, like stains can be used. The formulas tend to not mix well, and become patchy. This means that I’m not really able to moisturize under. I’ve sometimes applied the Blotted Lips successfully over regular lipstick or liquid lipstick though, to change the color. Also, just like layering a liquid lipstick doesn’t work very well as it can clump, it’s the same with this, IMO.
The main thing I like with these, I guess is the sheer color they give and that they dry down completely and aren’t sticky – great for windy weather, which is common where I live. Not a fan of not being able to moisturize under though, which makes these better suited for warmer climates or indoor use.

PROS:
• No transfer
• Lightweight formula, you can barely feel it on the lips
• Long wearing, no smudging/fading
• Even pigmentation, not patchy
• Not crumbly or flaky even when layered
• Pretty comfortable
• Affordable
• Wide color range
CONS:
• Sheer formula, slightly streaky in certain places when dry if you look closely
• Chemical scent
Overall, 8/10. I have the shade Zuma which is almost exactly the same as my lip color. I am very impressed by this product. You’d expect a sheer matte liquid lipstick to be patchy but this one definitely isn’t. It also feels like you have nothing on your lips. Highly recommend.

I really like this. Other than red lips, I avoid matte liquids, they are uncomfortable and too pigmented for my current tastes. This is more of a sheer long wearing lipstick. And it works well if you put some balm on top, which is the best part for me. It doesn’t clump or gather or come off. So you can put it on and have it last but still have moisturized lips. I like the shade Zuma the best, it is a good MLBB. And the price is great!

This is my holy grail liquid lipstick!! The formula is watery and sheer, but can be built up for fuller coverage. Even the darker shades apply evenly.
This lipstick doesn’t dry my lips out at all. Very long lasting, without bleeding or flaking off in the center. During an 8 hour shift at work, I find myself only needing to reapply once.
I own the shades vitamin sea, ocean ave, zuma, party wave, and soda pop.
