This turned out to be a good color for me. For reference I have blonde hair, blue eyes, and I’m shade NC20 in MAC foundations. The Brides is one of those peach/pink/nudes, more peach than anything else. It’s somewhat similar to Charlotte Tilbury’s B!tch Perfect, but without the yummy vanilla scent. The Brides is “fragrance free,” which means there is no masking fragrance, yet it has a waxy scent in the tube. I’m not aware of the scent after application. This formula wears very well on me. I didn’t have trouble with it feathering or bleeding. It will transfer a bit to cups, but I have noticed that I still have a lot of color on the lips after I eat lunch. For that reason, it’s a good one to wear to work. Lately I’ve been far too busy to fuss with touch-ups during the day. This is a good lipstick for people looking for natural or organic brands that are cruelty free.

I bought The Brides and the tinted lip conditioner in Crimson and Clover at the same time. I had tried a sample of The Brides and thought that the peachy pink brown neutral suited my olive skin. Unfortunately, after trying the lipstick so many times, I just had to give up on it. The lipstick feels very grainy when you put it on, and the pigment itself is very chalky. Every time I wear it, my husband says it looks “powdery.” Worst of all, even if I use a lipliner and a primer, the pigment bleeds. It becomes matte after wearing for a while and my lips sort of absorb the product. I’m ok with that, but the feathering is terrible! It’s a bit embarrassing.
That said, Crimson and Clover is a perfect lip color and the complete opposite of The Brides. I’m really happy with that one and will keep it for sure.
