I purchased this thinking it was going to be sheer, but it’s not. It’s a deep plum/violet color. It isn’t as deep as the lipstick bullet color, which is dark, but by no means is this a light tint. The consistency is balm-like, and the longevity isn’t the best, but it packs a lot of color. This is one you will have to reapply often to keep the intensity.

more of a tinted lip balm than a lipstick. i still like it just not what i was expecting. i wish revlon would put the shine finish lipsticks in different packaging.

I applied lightly and it looks sheer plum. It has bluish undertones. I do like this. If i put more swipes its just too dark so I stick with feather light swipes. I do like the finish. Im happy with this and would definitely recommend. You can use this with very simple makeup.

I am surprised that this has very few reviews. I bought this shade a month ago. It’s a very moisturizing and very sheer plum color. For someone like me who isn’t a fan of very bold and full-on colors, I like that this is very sheer and almost like a moisturizing balm. It’s very buildable also. I usually apply a pinky color lipstick and top it with this one if I wanna go for a pink lip but on the plummy side without going vampy or goth-ish. It’s very pretty. I think this is a good lipstick if you’re still shy of wearing a very pigmented plum. I usually top this over my pink lipsticks (some are even bright ones). And it gives it a subdued pretty plummy pink color.

This has became one of my favorite lipsticks to wear, even to work. I got compliments wearing this lipstick. It is a shine finish lipstick that is quite sheer. I love that I could build this up to a bit more intense. It’s definitely not moisturising as some reviewers said.
My lips definitely popped with this color, with the shine finish and dark color. It is lightweight, but this definitely would require reapplication over the day if you want to rock this color for the entire day. This literally has been my lipstick for the fall season, and I love that it is bold but not too bold, if I make sense. Definitely repurchasing for sure!

I love this shade for everyday or class!! It’s a sheer plum. It can be built up to an extent. It does show chapped lips and I DO find it a bit drying. It lasts about four hours on me which is normal for me.

My first Revlon Shine lipstick was Pink Cognito and it did not show up at all on my lips, so I returned it. I really liked the moisturizing, non tacky formula, so I decided to try a deeper shade.
Plum Velour looked like the most pigmented color from the online swatches. I really like to wear berry and plum shades and I wanted something more light for the Spring and Summer. This is great for sheer and moisturizing color, like a tinted balm as one reviewer said. So it’s an okay product if you don’t think of it as a lipstick.
Plum Velour is a dupe for Revlon’s Balmstain in Crush, but a little creamier, lighter in color, and not as long lasting. If you like Crush but want something lighter, I would recommend this.

Beautiful color! Yes it is a tad on the sheer side, but build-able, I like to just dab it on and rub my lips together for a dark tint. Very moisturizing and shiny too!!

Nice deep color in the tube but it barely shows up on my lips. They should not label this as “Super Lustrous Lipstick.” It’s shiny, yes, but just too sheer. I picked this up at CVS for $6.99 with a $4 ECB reward. I’m definitely going to exchange it for a lip butter.

The Super Lustrous Shine lipsticks are new and after seeing this shade reviewed in a magazine, I decided to give it a try. Per the magazine, the color was supposed to be good for multiple skin tones. In the magazine it appeared to give better coverage than it actually does.
It is very lightweight, not much more coverage than a tinted lip balm. I am a NC 43 and the plum color isn’t bad but the texture is so light it doesn’t really have a lot of impact on my med-dark skin tone. It is very moisturizing but if you are looking for any kind of longevity, I would suggest another Revlon formula. This would be a good choice when you are doing minimal makeup and just want a hint of color on your lips, but I was really looking for something more opaque and longer lasting.
I did end up pairing this with a waterproof lip liner (NYX retractable liner MPL 16 Plum) which gave it more color and coverage but on its own it is too lightweight for me. Luckily I had a coupon for $2 off so I didn’t pay full price. I will NOT be buying this again as I would like to get a similar color in a more substantial formula.
