This color is really pretty in the tube. It’s a dusty pink/brown…on me it came across kinda dull with almost a hint of orange?? Strange…

This looks so pretty in the tube and I like the formula. However it didn’t work with my undertones . I wish I had looked at more swatches in different lighting with different skin tones online before I bought this. Was looking for a MLBB shade (my natural color is muted red/rose) with just tiny a hint of brown because *too much or too bright* pink clashes/looks gharish with my light(ish) skin with strong yellow / olive undertones. This did not scream “pink” at all (a good thing), in fact on me it seemed like more of a nude (pinky rose brown). It nicely blended with my natural lip color. Unfortunately, once I smiled, I realized this was pretty warm tinted because it brought out the yellow undertones in my skin and my teeth (warm shades do this, which is why i prefer neutral or slightly cool colors). Oh well. It’s not a bad shade in the least, it’s just not quite what I was looking for, with my particular coloring.
This has no discernible scent (to me). I love the formula. It’s moisturizing enough that it doesn’t highlight any dryness but the shine is very ,very low key. I can only describe the finish as a satin that’s very much leaning on the matte side. I can’t comment too much on how long wearing it us (only wore this for a couple evenings out), but it does stay on pretty well due to the fact that it’s not super slippery .

I have read hundreds of reviews and watched plenty of youtube reviews about this classic product. Spicy cinnamon, Rose Velvet, Rum Raisin, Teak Rose. None had any pigmentation unless i passed over lips 10 times, Color is not vivid and due to all the oils in formula, color slides around while speaking. Wear time is maybe 45 min.Does not cover my NC 20 mauve lips appreciably. I don’t understand the love for this lipstick unless you are looking for a lip balm sheer color. There is a reason these are drugstore. Milani regular lipstick is much more pigmented, lasts longer and cheaper. These are 8.99 regular price and not worth it. The only good thing is the moisturizing quality. Revlon needs to spend some money to make these more pigmented.
Am so disappointed. Don’t waste your money or time with these.
I use Teak Rose nail polish regularly for my toes . Teak Rose lipstick is supposed to be browned rose and is so on my toes but turns sheer magenta on my lips. Why?

This is the one. REVLON SLL in Rose Velvet is the perfect MLBB color for me. Thank you to all the other olive ladies on here who reviewed this.
I’m warm olive and can look green/yellow when pale and yellow/golden when tan (Maybelline fit me foundation 220). I have medium-dark, warm brown hair, dark brown eyes, and some permanent redness in my cheeks (maybe rosacea, maybe not) which makes color selection difficult.
With the frequency I wear lipstick (2-5 events a year) I may never need to buy another tube. I’m going to throw out all the other so-so, ho-hum, not great but ok lip products I have. I don’t get excited about makeup but I’m excited about this lipstick color.
I was planning on looking for Teak Rose and Mink as well but I don’t need to anymore.

I used this long time ago it was good but I have some other lipsticks as favorites

This is a great MLBB colour. I bought it as a dupe for MAC Creme in Your Coffee, which feathered badly on me. Rose Velvet doesn’t feather, doesn’t have any scent, and was way cheaper than the MAC lipstick.

I always veer into the habit of buying high-end lipsticks (Chanel, Bobbi Brown, Dior, Josie Maran, NARS, Shiseido, Bite Beauty) and yet I always get magically drawn back to Revlon Super Lustrous–I think it punches above its weight for the price, which is unequivocally excellent (I just got my last one for $6.99 Canadian). I have to admit that I love a strong lip (especially blotted down with a nude eye). NARS and Bobbi Brown are my brands of choice for bolder colours.
That being said, there’s a spot in my heart for the Super Lustrous line’s more muted ’90’s-ish shades (Rose Velvet, Smoky Rose, Pink Truffle, Rum Raisin, Blushing Nude, etc), and those are the colours I like best from this brand. Exciting? No. Flattering? Yes.
Then there’s the formula: moist, long wearing, unscented. This is a workhorse of a lipstick, the one I always seem to reach for during the day.

A lovely rosy nude color. Hands down Revlon Super Lustrous has been my favorite since the 90s.

I have been a huge fan of Revlon Lustrous Cream Lipsticks for ages, but for some reason, this particular lipstick never caught my attention. The color is sort of an adobe brownish pink shade on my NC15 skintone, At first I felt the shade was too brown, but the beauty of a lipstick like this is its versatility. I can use many different lip liners (I’ve tried red, true pink, pinky brown, brown, etc.) to shift the color a bit to complement the rest of my makeup. I usually accent with a much lighter pinky nude in the middle of my lips to add more dimension and make my lips look fuller. The more I use Rose Velvet, the more I like it. I will likely finish my tube–it’s only a small stub now–and then repurchase. This is a great “bottom of the handbag” shade to keep around for days I don’t know what to wear but need a natural, yet polished look.

Well, I am totally surprised by this lipstick! Rose Velvet is an elegant, muted warm rose that I would expect to find at a Chanel counter. I can’t tell you how hard it’s been to find any pink based lip colors that don’t look garish and ridiculous on me. I just assumed I would never be able to wear pink makeup, ever. I’m embarrassed to think about how many lipsticks I’ve bought and tossed. I have quite fair but very golden skin (tan easily), green eyes, dark blonde hair, and I look TERRIBLE in cool colors. Soft Autumn colors, all the way. If you’re used to wearing lip colors called “terracotta red” “raisin” or “spice” this pink might work for you! I also appreciate that this is just a few shades deeper than “nude” lip colors that always make me look dead or washed out.
