I like it. It reminds me of an older lipstick they had – First Bite. Its kind of a dulled down red, or even a dull coral (but not the orange kind of coral). Success approaches the red family without going bright/pink/cherry/orange/mauve/dark. I dont get any brown from it myself, but I might have a different complexion than the previous reviewers–Ive got light skin with yellow tones and dark ash brown hair. It does make my black mascara look like it has a navy blue tint to it–which is weird. Also my Success smells briefly like a kids cereal–fruity pebbles or fruit loops, one of those. But the smell isnt strong and it doesnt last. Doesnt taste weird either.

Ok, I’m giving this 5 lippies because it’s the best brown-red I’ve ever tried! It’s warm and gorgeous and looks absolutely perfect with my red hair and freckly skin! The creamy consistency is so nice too.

I adore this shade! First off this is part of NARS Spring 2008 which is all about a nude eye (they only have the new duo and single as the look) and light cheeks shades for the most part (Nico, Deep Throat, Orgasm Multiple and Gina). Success is a semi-matte formula, very long wearing and has the new NARS herbal very natural scent I cannot for the life of me place. Both NARS and Sephora describe the shade as burnt sienna and that is spot on. There is no shimmer at all to this shade and it is a very welcome edition to my collection, a perfect red head shade or for those of us that are not exactly redheads but have that complexion and a close hair shade. Reds are very hard for me so this warm russet brown with a subtle hint of red is perfect for me. I think people who do not usually like more earth toned or brownish shades might like this as is doesn’t scream brown. I love it! I do not think it would look good one cool toned skin as it is most certainly a warm toned shade. My favorite way to wear this is with the new Greek Holiday gloss (a sparkling sheer sandy beige with lots of shimmer) over it. Again a great shade for redheads (and similar coloring) and anyone who loves brown shades.
