I started out with some samples from KVD studded lipsticks just to try out. They are a matte lipstick, there is a little bit of a drag with application. The color is highly pigmented and lasts a long time, even with drinking or eating. I found I had to do very few touch ups throughout the day and surprisingly, they weren’t drying. No feathering, no bleeding, no need for lip liners here. Very comfortable wear. I liked them so much that I purchased full sizes in Ludwig, Hawkwind and Sanctuary.

This was something I bought last year in the shade Mother. It’s probably my most favourite lipstick though I seldom use it (feels too special to use). It has a great formula and good wear. I don’t like the finish of her liquid lipsticks but this has a slightly satin look.
I remember exactly how bad of a time I was going through, really awful things, and the beautiful colour grabbed me, it was just so unique, I couldn’t afford it just then.
I loved it so much I would try to recreate the shade from my own lipsticks or MUFE Flash palette and looking at my attempts against swatches online.
Every time I went to the mall I would pop into Sephora to buy it but end up not. I was afraid these would be ugly and drying on lips over the course of the day.
Anyway it isn’t. It’s also surprisingly comfortable, even though it isn’t super creamy like say a Clinique or Clarins lipstick, it doesn’t feel bad.
The colour doesn’t ‘turn’ which usually happens to me when it comes to pink lippies.
No bleeding (never need lipliner). Perhaps some shades are of worse quality than others?
These would make a good gift but the packaging does make it more difficult to open than other lipsticks, which might annoy some people.

I picked up the mini set that has Mother in an Everlasting Liquid Lipstick and a limited edition Studded Kiss. The Studded Kiss formula goes on matte, so I fully expected my lips to be parched after 8-ish hours of wear. Not so! It’s a surprisingly creamy matte and doesn’t transfer that much — I barely needed to re-apply throughout the day
Suffice it to say, Mother is gorgeous, vibrant blue-toned pink, almost verging on a berry. Looks stunning on cool undertones, but I feel like anyone can pull this color off, regardless of skin tone.

I received a sample of this in Double Dare. It’s not a color I would normally purchase for myself, but I was surprised to find that it actually looked pretty nice. It goes on over smoothly and lasts a long time. I wouldn’t pay $20 for a lipstick….I LOVE my Wet n Wild Megalast because it’s SOOO cheap and works just as well, but I am enjoying this sample and am curious about some of the other shades.

I only have A-Go-Go and so far I’m liking it. It is a very matte and dry formula, so you need to use it with a lip primer if you have dry lips like I do. Stays on very well but not through a meal. For the price I can definitely find better at the drug store, but I might get a few more as a treat because I do like Kat Von D’s shade range. The packaging, however, sucks a lot. I have an acrylic lipstick holder and this is the only one that doesn’t fit. Way too bulky!

I have Muse, Lovecraft, & Lolita (all brown nudes MLBB). The formula is amazing. It stays on like nobody’s business I can keep it on for 4 hours with just sipping water (I don’t smoke, it comes off during eating). These bullets are insanely long in the mini’s u get so much product & can find on eBay for $10-$12USD. I highly recommend & kvd is cruelty free. I got Muse & Lovecraft in minis & Lolita full sized. MAC is my ride or die but I’m seriously liking these kvd mini lipsticks they have the cutest packaging & they make mini everlasting lipsticks in some colors too. I will repurchase most def! I love kvd’s vision she’s a good person in my estimations w her high ethical standards. #winning

I’m not sure if it’s the packaging or the formula, however these lipsticks did not last in the tubes. I bought a Christmas gift set last year and they’re all dried up and no longer go on the lips smoothly. SO very disappointed in these as I loved them when I first got them but now I have to toss them in the trash. Her liquid lipstick is just as bad. DON’T BUY THEM. You’ll be regretting it a few months down the road.

I love love love these lipsticks. They are matte but not TOO matte, they have the most ridiculous staying power and the colours are so pigmented. Also the packaging is just so cute, I can’t resist.
Today I applied my personal favourite LUV (dark purple), ate a snack, had numerous drinks, went for a 30 minute sweaty bike ride and came home hours later and it looks exactly like it did when I applied it. I have similar results with the other colours I own – Coven (light purple) and Underage Red (bright blue red). I find Underage Red fades a little bit faster than the others, but the staying power is still incredible.
My own drawback is the price point. $26 CAD is pretty expensive but they are my go to lipsticks, of the 50+ I own I always reach for these first.

I got to say that I’d go for the liquid lipsticks over the lipsticks any day.
The lipsticks have a sweet sickly scent I do not fancy and the formula is on the creamy thick dry side. It’s creamy but dry if you know what I mean. The shades don’t go evenly the first go and you got to build up for flawless application. And the lasting power isn’t as good as the liquid lipsticks but it cost more than the liquid lipsticks.
The packaging is bulky and big which doesn’t fit in most lipstick holders which is a slight negative.
But what makes it such a miss for me is that the liquid lipsticks have most of their wild unique shade since they are from the same brand but it cost cheaper than the lipstick. The formula is creamier, more hydrating and long lasting and opacity is far more greater than the lipsticks. So skip the lipsticks and go for her liquid lipsticks instead. They are the best liquid lipstick formula even better than jeferre star.

These may not be the best lipsticks on the planet, but the more regular shades can be quite nice. Shades like Lovecraft are great examples of this. Nice, matte, neutral shade. Yes, amass these are not the best around but one or two are fun to have.
The problems lay within the funky colors like Coven or the blue, black or green shades the reviewer below mentions. These type of shades in this line have terrible reputations. Everything from being messy to my Coven breaking off in the tube (and it was brand new & the ladye at Sephora said this happens alot with the more unique shades!).
I love the packaging, I think it is cute and very Kat Von D. All in all the line deserves a 3 to a 4. Some colors no matter how cool or unique are not worth the headache other shades are some of my favorites.
So consistency are not these lipsticks strong suits. But when you find a gem, it is quite a good one.
