It’s always hard for me to tell if a mauve-pink-nude shade in the tube is going to work for me until I try it on. I am happy to report this one worked for me. I’m AAB/NC25 and it wears like a dusty mauve pink, great for a classic understated look for work. It’s deep enough that the color doesn’t wash me out. The formula also works well for me – creamy, smooth, and easy to spread on with the doe foot. I don’t need much so I typically wipe most of the product off in the tube before dabbing and spreading on my lips. I find it to be non-sticky and non-drying. Sets to a matte finish, wears comfortably, and has good staying power.

I have the sheer version of this (Sheer Patina), and after 2-3 uses I just threw it in the trash can.
I am NW15 and it barely shows on me. And what it does, looks blah, pale and dry.
I should have known I don’t do well with these products, as I had another shade from Stila in their regular Stay all Day range and disliked it, but this is even worse.
Way too expensive, honestly the only thing I liked about this was the packaging.

I do not understand the hype of this product. Yes, it’s a beautiful highly pigmented lipstick, but it is super drying on the lips. It’s like any other liquid lipstick I’ve used.

This is my favorite lipstick to date. Long lasting, non drying (but also not moisturizing either) and makes my thin lips look almost twice as plump and the color is so so beautiful. A very intense rosy pink that will lean more neutral if you follow this one tip – apply only a fraction of what you would normally apply. I typically just tap the applicator to the center of my bottom lip and then lightly smear with my finger all over and get the most perfect color that lasts hours.
However IF I apply all over w/the applicator , the color is way too intense and bright for a normal workday and doesn’t look neutral at all. I can see some people would like that intensity but I always like that my lips but better neutral tone.
For reference I am Asian, have dark brown hair and light/medium skin tone.

This was a freebie deluxe sample from Sephora. I was hoping for it to be a go-to pretty rose, but my skin tone leans to the fair/light end of the spectrum, so this was surprisingly darker than I expected right out of the tube, and dries down even darker. I don’t mind dark lipstick, but this is pretty dramatic for me for daytime wear. It’s a soft but not subtle slightly rosy brown/almost mauve on me. Overall: The color payoff is fantastic, it lasts and dries very matte, and it can be drying (but when I put gloss or balm on top it definitely starts to transfer.)
I was really impressed with the longevity of the color so I went ahead and added Dolce (nude cinnamon sheen, emphasis on cinnamon) and Perla (soft rosy nude) to my collection. Dolce wasn’t quite as warm as I was hoping but I have very dark lips, and this is a bit more sheer, so that’s on me. I wouldn’t say it’s as long lasting as the others and does transfer more. Perla is a very pigmented creamy, powdery, cool nude rose matte. Like Patina, it dries down a touch darker than the wet swatch but still totally passes as a nude. I’m not sure I would repurchase any of these particular shades because I haven’t really been able to make any of them work with a wide variety of looks, but they are great quality liquid lipsticks and I guess I’m still hoping to find “the one” that’s best for me.

I’m in the UK and this was £16 for 3ml. This is the first long-lasting liquid lipstick I’ve ever used. It certainly does last until about lunchtime for me. It’s a neutral darkish pink-brown on my very fair skin and very flattering. I think it would suit most skin-tones. I have to apply it very carefully or it stains the outside of the lips. And it does dry out my lips which flake when I’ve used this a lot. But for long-lasting lipstick it is very good. I hope to try other brands in the future to compare it to such as Kat Von D which is £17 but for 6.6ml.
