I would buy all the shades ASAP. For people who feel like regular lipstick feels too heavy or it’s too much, this would be the lip product to have. My lips don’t feel heavy and they are moisturized. I have the red light shade. Get it fast because Almay discontinued them.

I love these! Wow! Super hydrating and comfortable on the lips, actually improved my lips with wear! This product alone will keep me tryibg almay products (which typically don’t work for me). I have the Light-red shade and it is super beautiful: a bright, warm red with such a glossy finish that applies quite evenly and pigmented. This is the perfect easy to wear vibrant glossy red lip. Easy to apply, comfortable on the lips, lasts a pretty good length of time (especially for a balm type of lip product), less slip than the Revlon lip butters (which I love also), and such a shiny-glossy feeling. A lovely balm with a surprising amount of colour for all balm lovers. Highly recommend!

Boy howdy, I love these! Really comfortable on the lips; they feel more like a balm than a lipstick, but they’re not too slippy. Packaging is not luxurious, but it’s very practical. The lid is clear, and as you can see in the photo, the color of the metal tube matches the color of the product. I also appreciate that the label on the bottom includes both the shade name and the number.
Although it calls itself a lipstick, it’s really a tinted lip balm that you can build to a semi-sheer finish. Wear, like every other balmy lip color, is not great, but it’ll stick around a couple of hours.
The shades are marketed as being targeted to specific skin tones (with the ridiculously narrow range of Light, Light/Medium, and Medium, which, come on Almay, it’s 2017, get it together). However, I found that for me (pale & v. v. cool), the shades in the Medium range worked best. Here are the shades I’ve tried:
90 – Berry Medium – Just what it says on the tin. It’s a medium deep cool (but not too cool) berry. On me, it’s a perfect MLBB shade. It’s also the sheerest of the 3.
110 – Nude Medium – I bought this after I’d tried the other two, in the (vain) hope that it might be a cool brown, but it’s not. (Which seems only fair, given that the the Berry & the Red are so cool). It’s in fact a medium caramel tone that leans warm, with a fair amount of pigmentation, but still sheer.
120 – Red Medium – SUCH a great color, although it’s probably more accurate to call it wine rather than true red. It’s quite a cool tone, with the most pigmentation of the 3 I tried. It’s very similar, to my eye, to the Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm in Red Velvet, but significantly more pigmented.
Overall, I think these are a great value and worth giving a try, although people with skin tones any darker than “medium” may find that there’s not enough punch to the colors.

This lip product is like the women in old Italian films …
Lush – incredibly hydrating and what I wanted Dior Lip glow to be
Effortlessly beautiful – a lovely tint of color, with several to choose from
Volatile – sadly, a tendency to snap/break before you are ready
And like those stunning women, so worth the effort. I have 3 of these these in nude medium. One at home, one in my purse & one at work. Paired with curled lashes & blush it’s easy to apply, effortlessly chic and pulled together. (It’s what I am wearing in my profile pic). Not a full on opaque cream lipstick, but more than a balm. Plus they fade evenly and leave lips feeling great.
They do have a tendency to get soft or break due to how hydrating they are, but given the price, especially with DS sales – it’s a small price to pay for the final look.
While I am not a huge fan of Almay, and don’t think of it as a sexy brand, they have a real winner here.

When I first applied this, I’ll admit I was stunned at how pretty it was. Really nice, even pigment, glossy finish and felt rather hydrating. The color I picked up was Pink- Light, which is a pale neutral pink as one might gather from the name. It’s just the kind of color I gravitate towards, so naturally that wasn’t an issue.
It isn’t long-wearing, but I wasn’t expecting it to be because, well, glossy lipsticks, hi. But this had a weird tendency at about the two-hour mark, to settle into lip lines (I don’t have wrinkly lips, please take my word on that), get patchy and kind of clumpy. Admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of balm-like lipsticks because generally I’ll just pair a gloss over a lipstick if I want a more moisturizing or shiny effect. It just gives better and more even pigmentation, but to each her own.
Overall I was a little underwhelmed, but still pleased with how it applied initially. I will be giving it a round two but probably not repurchase these.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed these HG Lip Butters. I have chronically dehydrated lips, to the point where while I love lipsticks, I can no longer wear 95% of the lipsticks out there. These are wonderfully moisturizing, have the coverage of about a sheer lipstick, and while the colors are sadly limited and skew blue-toned, I was happy to find that at least 4 of the colors look very good on me, and 1 is passable. I have bought all three more than once, which is a true sign that these work well, are dependable, and look good.
They really moisturize and smooth out dry lips, yet provide nice color that is not long wearing, but lasts a decent amount of time. Another pro: they come in stick form in a tube. That’s really convenient. I hate liquids w/ doe foot applicators. I have probably 40 different lip butters, tinted balms, glosses, and lipsticks, and time and again I reach for these. I wish they would add some warm/rust/orange toned colors (Like Palladio’s Butter Me UP! in Tarte, which is not NEARLY as moisturizing, in fact that stuff is a bit drying, but is such a nice orange color w/ no blue) so I can buy more!
The colors are categorized according to skin color intensity (Fair, Light, Medium, etc) w/o regard to skin tones (yellow, pink, green, etc.) As noted, they skew cool, but not as greyish/blueish as some I’ve tried that make me look dead. Only one color is warm – the Red for Light skin tones.
I have:
– Pink for Light-Medium skin. This is a blue-y, barbie kind of bright pink (cream with some shine, no shimmer) that I normally do not like, but for some strange reason, it looks good on me (for reference I have dirty blond hair, fair yellow toned skin, light eyes). I think it would probably look good on many different complexions. When I look like crap, I can put this on and suddenly I look so much better. This looks good on me any time of year.
-Nude for Light skin. Despite the peach shimmer tube, this is more of a neutral light berry base with lots of fine gold and pink shimmer in it. The gold shimmer is the only peachy thing about it, and it can look a little pale if you have dark pigmented lips. It is less blue-brown and a little more pink than the Nude for Light-Medium skin. I look better in this in summer when I have more color in my skin. In winter, I look a little washed out.
-Nude for Light-medium skin tones: No shimmer, it’s a cream which is a medium plummy kind of neutral nude, a little more brown and a tad darker than the base color of the Nude for Light skin. This is the one that’s “passable” on me, only because I find it a little too dull and drab. If you have pigmented lips and like MLBB colors that don’t look like you’re wearing lipcolor, you’ll probably like this more than I do. It does make my teeth look super white.
-Red for Light skin tones: A light-medium warm red cream w/ a tiny bit of an orange tone. Looks great any time of year – tan, pale, whatever. You can lay it on thick for a dramatic look or light for a little everyday color. This is as far as I can tell, the only truly warm color in the lineup.
-Berry for Light-Medium skin tones: About the same base color as the Nude for Light-Medium but w/ a tiny, tiny bit more pink, and a medium amount of fine pink shimmer. Probably because of the pink shimmer, I find this one doesn’t look as drab as the Light Medium Nude. I find I wear it quite a bit more often than the Nude for Light-Medium skin tones. Like that color, this also makes my teeth look super white.
Overall, great lip butter, convenient stick form, highly moisturizing, nice colors, good price, easily available in most DS. I do sometimes wear plain aquaphor over these if I want to tone down color buildup from multiple re-applications, but they do very well w/o anything over them. Just wish they offered some more of the warmer colors as well.

I have this in Berry, light-medium. The color is a sheer berry with some shimmer. It is a perfect match for my porcelain skin tone. Color is not long lasting though. It does not dry out my lips. I do prefer the Revlon lip butters to the Almay Butter Kiss lipsticks.

The color (nude light) was gorgeous on me, and it was very hydrating, but the lipstick broke off not even halfway through the tube.

I had this in a nude shade but I’ve lost it so I decided I’d buy another (diff color: this time Medium Pink which I figured had to do w skintone rather than the color but I wasn’t positive but I think Almay figures the ambiguity will sell more lipsticks–some ppl may think medium pink means the shade is a mediumish pink hue & light pink would be a lighter paler pink vs. some people would think medium pink is the 1 for them coz they have medium skin tone…okay where is “DARK??”). It’s overkill on the simplicity of it to the point of being extremely complicated (okay which is it?!). Medium pink is a bright pink think MAC Girl About Town or Viva Glam Miley 1, it is a gorg shade since I’m getting into bright pinks w nice nude eyes I think most of these colors are pretty universally flattering & never did I ever think Almay would come out w a bright color!??? They are so conservative! I love bright pinks lately & this is the best DS 1 I have found. $7 is meh I mean MAC GAT or Miley1 are $18 but they are better quality. I debated & held off getting this for a cpl days but I’m glad I did get it. It lasts 3+ hours on me b4 eating & I disagree that this wouldn’t need a mirror, this does need a mirror for medium pink. Gorg color!!

This is a lovely little lippie! It FEELS GREAT, gives medium sheer color payoff (think Revlon lip butter) and comes in perfect shades. I got the one that’s nude for medium skin tones, basically because it’s the color I wanted and has no shimmer like some of the other shades, even though I have light skin (nw15). Get whichever color you want. You won’t be disappointed with this one, it looks perfect, feels comfortable and lasts a while. Lasts longer than my beloved L’Oreal color balm, but isn’t as glossy as that. It has no offensive smell, but a VERY LIGHT sweet scent sort of like the L’Oreal balm but less fragrant than that or mac. The tube is pretty, looks like a metal about the color of the product itself, with a black base to click the clear lid onto at the very bottom. The lid basically covers the whole lipstick, so if you get the product everywhere inside the lid it might not look too great but it’s pretty basic, and closes tightly, almost hard to open. The color I have is 70 nude light-medium. It’s just a little darker than my lips. Looks beautiful. I’m definitely satisfied, will repurchase and reccomend.
