Silly me, thinking a shade called COPPER would be METALLIC. It is absolutely, totally flat. And very warm…whoever claimed a “warm NC20” tone doesn’t realize the C means “cool” and in fact this color would look horrible on NC20…I know because NC20 I am, and unfortunately took the advice that this would be good for NC20. Ugly. On me anyway…I can see it being gorgeous on peachy skin. The texture is okay…I can see why some love it, but I can’t get past the smell, and it feels like there is some ingredient I am allergic to because it stings.

Glides on smoothly and feels really, really moisturizing. I fell in love with the color right away and got several compliments on my lipstick first day of use. The shade is a warm light brownish copper red on my pale lips and it harmonizes so beautifully with my light (and probably warm/perhaps neutral) (NC 15-20 or something like that) skin tone. The only drawback that I can think of is that the staying power could have been a little better. I had to reapply several times during the day. But it’s not a lip stain of course and I had a little hint of color left on my lips even after having had my coffee break (which is not that bad after all), but I think my coffee cup had more lipstick on it than I had by then…
Because of the absolutely wonderful color and the moisturizing benefits of this lipstick I would definitely buy again.
Update: I don’t know if I’m really that fond of this lipstick after all. It looks a little too brownish on my pale complexion. I’ve found that lighter and perhaps somewhat shimmery lipsticks work better for me although this one is not bad… As the staying power isn’t that great I’m going to change my initial judgement of this lipstick. I’m going to leave it with a 4 which of course isn’t bad just not perfect for me…

I fell in love with the Hydra EL lipsticks when I got this color for free with
a purchase ages ago. I am a warm to light skin tone girl. I can wear
this lipstick with no other makeup and wow I look great.
Of course I need mu but that is how great this color looks on someone
with light skin and peach warm undertones.
The color lasts surprising well and blends nicely. It does not go on
sharp but because it is so rich with moisture it blends like a great
skin cream. Expensive for me as I don’t like to pay more than $10 for
a lipstick. This was about $18 for each.
I already bought this again in two other colors.
I am hoping to get this in Mocha next.
You’ll love it see if you can get a sample first.
