First off, I am a big lipstick user ….. for 35 years or so, really! Ok, a bit of an addict, but I hardly ever buy a lipstick I don’t use, but I go through plenty of phases, colors, textures, brands …… That said I might not go through too many tubes all the way to the bottom, but I am on second tube of this!
I am not in a country where Lipstick Queen is available, so I have made do with a couple of other LQ products and my myriad other lipsticks for a while, but on a recent trip to NY I found myself at Barneys and remembered how much I have liked my LQ’s. So I went through all of the colors and again came up with Saint Rouge as the clear winner, like last time, 4 years ago!
This is really the perfect neutral flat red for me. It completely perks up my complection, even though it is a bit muted, the texture is not matte but flat, almost like perfectly moist well- conditioned lips, and it is sheer but not too sheer, pigmented but not at all opaque. Funny how something just hits it for each of us, I am so happy to have this in my rotation again! That reminds me, I actually should get a back up because I will actually go through this one!

This is my all-time favorite lipstick. I usually don’t spend this much on lipsticks, and I tend to jump from one kind to another rather than stay loyal to one particular brand or shade. But I LOVE this one. I’m very pale with warm-neutral undertones, and on me, this shade is a lovely dusty, soft red. It’s described as sheer (as opposed to the opaque Sinner line), but that’s a bit misleading — it’s definitely less opaque than the Sinner line, but it’s a pretty intense color. I haven’t had trouble with it being drying, but I’m not too precious about my lip color and will usually just add a dab of clear lip balm if needed. The color is long-lasting and I’ve never had problems with smudging, creeping, or those unfortunate lipstick rings (when it fades, it fades pretty uniformly). And the red, which is noticeable but not harsh, is appropriate for most situations — I’ve worn this to work, for parties, or just around town.
One tiny problem: the lipstick tube, while beautiful and sturdy, started peeling very easily. It’s almost like there was a film over the tube that started rubbing off, and I eventually had to pick all the pieces off (including the LQ logo) to keep it from looking grimy.

This is a beautiful color. I didn’t buy because it’s a pure red, on me it’s more of a wine color with a bit of brightness to it that I find very flattering. This is my 4th Lipstick from the this line. I’m really happy with it, specially the Saint colors. The sinner line is too matte for me. I like a bit of dewyness to my lipstick without having to extra step my routine with a gloss. The Saint line is a godsend for those of us who don’t have that much time. I also find that more matte shades have a tendency to accentuate creases and lines, if you don’t watch it. I would guess that this color is flattering on most, but don’t buy it if you want a true red.

I hate to be the lone dissenter, but as someone who has more of a medium skin tone, the shade of Saint Rouge was a little off for me. On me, it slid into a coral shade. If it had a bit more blue in it, I think it would have been perfect.

Love this. My favorite from Lipstick Queen is Sinner Pink, but this is nearly as pretty. The texture is soft and silky, and it gives the perfect level of rosy glow.

After buying Lancome’s L’absolu Rouge, in Rouge Absolute and being disappointed in yet another attempt to find a perfect red, I returned to some lipstick currently in my collection. And I have to say, “I’m in love!” I’m in love with Saint Rouge!
While the Lancome was shockingly red, and somewhat glossy, I find the Saint Rouge to be the perfect pigmented red/berry but without a lot of gloss to it. The texture is somewhere between matte and shiney, so it doesn’t make your lips look “dry” but you don’t look like a stickey-glossed 13 year old either. It is just perfect. The color stays on and does not get on everything you touch your lips to. It also wears down to a bit of a stain, as one of the other reviewers said, so you don’t get that “lip liner only” look at the end of the day. It fades gradually and uniformly.
And the color, I can’t say enough good things about the color. Yes, it is red, but not a shocking jump-off-your-face red. It is more subtle than a bright fire engine red, but still noticable. And looks great on my pale, rosy, cool complexion. It does not develop blue undertones.
Saint Rouge, get into my lipstick pouch and never leave me again. It took trying another to get me to appreciate your charms, but I’m sold.

Wow. This is beautiful. It took me forever to decide which LQ formula and color to buy. I searched google images as well as MUA reviews and posted pictures. This is exactly what I wanted–a color I had imagined but never found. For reference, I look fine in NW15, Almay Buff–I have fair olive skin with lots of yellow and green. But my hair is dark ash brown with lots of silver, and cool dark brown eyes, so I must use cool-toned makeup in spite of my warm skin. This is a beautiful berry on my rather pigmented lips. There is no warmth to the color–no tan or brown tones. The finish is sheer with a touch of gloss. It leaves a light stain as it wears off, so this is a bit more durable than the average sheer lip color. I don’t really get into packaging so I could care less what it looks like so long as the product is good. The cap clicks on securely; personally, I don’t really like gold, but whatever. I got this from Barney’s on-line: free shipping! This is so much better than the Shiseido Perfect Rouge I got for $25 or so. Well done, and I suspect I might have to get another color after more research. Maybe venture into the Sinner line…

This product just absolutely did wonders for my it is sheer and moist. I could never find a shade of lipstick that would match me without looking like a clown or a toddler that has gone through her mum’s makeup case. I would just have to say poppy king has made the perfect formula for colour and practicality for lips!

Love love love this lipstick. It’s a gorgeous sheer colour that makes my natural berry lips look fabulous. I can wear it using one layer and it is work-appropriate in a conservative office. The colour is buildable. One time I just wore foundation and bronzer then wore 3 coats of this ls and dare I say it looked great. It doesn’t flake off my lips either which is great (sadly most lipsticks do that).
Like the reviewer below, I also have around 20 red ls and this is one of my faves.

This is a gorgeous, moist lipstick in a deep, rich, almost burnt auburn red. I love the packaging too, a brushed gold. I have about 20 reds and this is in my top 3 at the moment!
