I bought this lipstick to bring a purchase up to the $75 mark so I could use the recent Sephora coupon. I’d previously purchased another shade of this lipstick/gloss hybrid and was very pleased. These are great lip products – similar in texture and wear time to YSL’s “Oil in Stick” or Hourglass’s Girl Lip Stylo products but at a fraction of the price (they even share positive and inspiring names with the Hourglass ones). Wicked Smart is a dramatic but still wearable rich red shade – perfect for fall and for the Holiday season. The wear time (as with the 2 pricier lipsticks I mentioned) isn’t the best but these fade nicely and evenly, leaving a bit of a stain behind and for the price, I’m more than satisfied. Next, I want to find a shade like Givenchy’s Fuchsia in the Know, which is a gorgeous lipstick but on the pricey side as well and also not available in-store near me so it always involves ordering online.
Do yourself a favour and give one of these Rouge Lacquer lipsticks a try. There is a huge range of shades from nudes and light pinks all the way through to vampy purple-y plum shades and they are all a real bargain. The packaging is very “high end” looking; my only complaint is that it’s impossible to see the shade names on the bottoms of the tubes (there might not even be names and only the numbers) but I’ve put tiny Avery labels with the names on the two I have and plan to do that with any future purchases.
