I have to work at this lipstick. It isn’t one I can just smear on. Without a neutral liner either applied all over the lips or as an outline and a blot and reapplication, this formula just looks like gloss on me. But putting in the time to get it right and the reward is non-drying lips that dry down to a pretty matte finish that lasts without looking caked on. To me, this is a grown up woman look, without being aging. I think there is a color for everyone.

This review is for beige 110, which is a nude beige tone with just enough pink to keep me looking alive but still very much in beigey nude territory. Enough color to wear alone with a neutral face but also not so much it can’t help carry off a stronger eye. I love the formula. Truly longer wearing without being thick and tacky, has a soft-shine finish, not a weighty matte shade. Looks the best if I wear it in one layer and /or blot off excess otherwise is a bit too ashy/beige for me and can even go muddy, like the color of a very light melted milk chocolate. Still on the hunt for the perfect nude pink beige but this is gorgeous nonetheless. I prefer pinks and mauves but this is a nude that doesn’t drain me. Darker than LM Caramel, which can go too flesh toned. This does have a pink/peach warmth in lighter layers. Foundation shade YSL#08, recently using Armani in 5.75, which is a tad too light but tones down redness and brightens nicely. I am a pessimistic shopper and so far, the Armani line has won over my easily-disappointed heart, one line that is worth the investment (excluding their smooth as silk e/l, IME).

I’ve got the 502 (blush) which is a pinky colour and it’s beautiful! I hadn’t ever used a high end lipstick before and this one was super moisturising and glides on so easily onto my lips. The only downside was the price! Even though it’s a really nice lipstick, I think there are others out there that still look as pretty. I’d definitely buy it again if I had some money to spare! Oh and the packaging is great. It has a magnet in the casing, so that it clips together when you put it close.
I’ve done a Giorgio Armani haul on youtube that features this product, if you want to watch it 🙂
