I have a soft spot for Chanel lipsticks. Rouge Allure Velvet is my favorite lipstick formula of all time, so I decided to check out Rouge Coco Shines as soon as I ran out of my sheer pink everyday lipstick (you know, the “slap on and go” kind), MAC Nippon.
I chose the shade “Intrépide”, lovely warm pink with bits of shimmer, quite similar to Nippon. Coco Shine lipstick’s consistency is thinner- it’s more like a lip balm with a hint of color. Evens out my lips, makes them smooth and moisturizes beautifully. Perfect everyday color and formula. This is the kind of shade that I always have handy and apply before leaving my house, even if I’m going to change my lip color later.
The wear time is very average, but TBH I don’t really mind it. As I’ve gotten older I stepped away from liquid lipsticks and now I favor traditional bullet lipsticks even though they’re not as long lasting. They’re more comfortable and not as drying.
The packaging is so luxe, as usual with Chanel. I know, I know, you can find equally good formulas for a lower price, since you pay mostly for the brand and the “luxe” feeling. But still, I don’t regret my purchase and I’d buy again.
