I am reviewing the sample I got from Urban Decay, and oh my god this red is Amazing. somehow it blows MAC’s any shade of red out the water.

This is my first UD lipstick and I love it BUT this formula has a tendency to dry out my lips so I’m constantly applying lip balm and I need to slather on Vaseline before bed.
I can only imagine what my lips would be like in the winter if I were to wear this lipstick.
Despite this one con, 69 is a beautiful pink based red that flatters my Asian NC30 skin tone immensely. I feel glam when I apply this lipstick and the pigment can’t be beat.
I definitely recommend making sure the lips are exfoliated and primed properly because this formula can and does emphasize any dry flakes. I like applying gloss on top for ease of wear on my lips.
Overall, I rate this lipstick 3.5 stars for the beautiful, vibrant shade and I only wish the formula were a bit more moisturizing. Oh, the name is rather silly but amusing.

I have this in both the lip liner pencil and the lipstick. I like the lipstick but I LOVE the lipliner, I pair it with several different reds that I have and it blends seamlessly while providing a rich, non-drying base.
The lipstick lasts 4-6 hours, less if you are eating obviously. I am fair and blonde and I do not feel clownish or attention seeking in this red, I feel classy and classic. I think this is a great introductory combo for people who are nervous about trying reds, it was my first duo!

It’s a typical Revolution lipstick, creamy and opaque. I’m a girl with very sensitive lips, they’re always dry, no matter what chapstick I use, but this lipstick was really comfortable to wear! Not my HG red ’cause it does have a noticeable sheen and I prefer matte reds. A little bit hard to take off, it was only micellar solution that worked for me. But if we’re talking about the shade… NYX Bloody Mary is its absolute dupe (I own both)!

I own many of these new revolution lipsticks and love most of them, but this one? Not so much. Firstly, the shape of the lipstick makes application of the colour extremely difficult, and as this is a bold red, you really have to be precise, which doesn’t happen with this lipstick unless you use a lip brush. On application, it really tugs at my lips! I have quite full lips, and so it feels like they are about to split when I try and put this on! And lastly it stains your lips like no other. And not in a good way! I would come home from a night out and use a makeup wipe to take this off, and yet my lips are still stained even though there is no product left on my lips! I then resorted to using an oil based makeup remover for eyes and lips, and still no avail! The next day they still look red and kind of ridiculous! You can get much better reds from mac or even the drugstore, so whilst I recommend other colours from this line, I would give this one a miss.

I really love this color. Most of my reds are drying on my lips, but this one is very moisturizing and feels great on. The only problem I’ve had with this lipstick is that it drags when I put on. So I have to use a lip brush with this. Not a big deal. Oh and it last forever! At least 6 hours with eating and drinking. If you have medium skin tone you should check out this color.

Wow! Urban decay did amazing on these lipsticks! The formula is absolutely amazing. Doesn’t emphasize my dry lips or cracks at all. This was my first red lipstick purchase ever because I’v always been a little intimidated by bright colors but I love it. Beautiful bright red with slight pink undertones. Makes my teeth look whiter. For reference, I am light olive/yellow with dark hair dark eyes. It’s $22 so it is pricey but totally worth it. I have officially broken up with Mac lipsticks because they emphasize lines on my lips and I hate it. I would rather pay the extra money for these smooth creamy lipsticks. Plus, they are extremely pigmented! One swipe is all you need, no layering! Buy one and see for yourself. I also own Anarchy and Naked. Only complaint is the round shape makes it hard to define my Cupid’s bow.

Urban Decay recently relaunched their lipstick line and reviews are almost unanimously positive! Urban Decay says their “Pigment Infusion Systemâ„¢ gives Revolution Lipstick its super creamy texture, insane pigmentation, superior color dispersion and extended wear. Maxi-Lipâ„¢ defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller. And a nourishing blend of jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter keeps lips super moisturized and cushiony soft.” Urban Decay offers 22 shades (two of which are online exclusives) – I’m reviewing the shade 69. No giggles. Each Revolution Lipstick contains 2.8g (.09 oz) and retails for $22. I received a 1g (.03 oz) sample in my August Ipsy Bag. Urban Decay does not test on animals, though their parent company, L’Oreal, does. Revolution Lipsticks are made in America.
My sample of the Revolution Lipstick came in a cardboard folder offering plenty of product information, swatches of 20 lipstick shades and 16 lip liner shades, as well as a full ingredient list. The miniature lipstick it’s self comes in packaging nearly identical to the full sized tube. The tube is made of lightweight, reflective, grey plastic. The UD logo decorates the top of the cap. The shade name can be found on the bottom of the tube on a color matched label. Inside, the twisting mechanism is a vibrant purple. Packaging is both functional and attractive. Surprisingly, the shiny packaging does not hold finger prints.
Wow. This lipstick. I understood the rave reviews right off the bat. Urban Decay’s Revolution Lipstick in 69 smooths on to the lips in the creamiest way. This lipstick is on the thicker side and is incredibly pigmented – one swipe gets you full color. Though the formula is on the thicker side, it isn’t heavy or uncomfortable. Because 69 is so pigmented, I need to be quite careful during application – I’ve taken to applying it with a Royal&Langnickled Angled Brow Brush (those tiny tubes are hard to maneuver aren’t they?). For the most part, 69 wears really well, staying super rich and opaque for at least two hours, though this lipsticks managed to hang about 5 hours. This lipstick is prone to transferring and certainly isn’t smooch proof. Urban Decay claims that this lipstick will make lips look plumper and fuller, which is true. There is no real plumping action or tingly feel, but the moist, creamy finish gives the illusion of larger lips. I can’t pick up any scent or flavor in Urban Decay’s Revolution Lipsticks.
69 is an amazing color. Urban Decay describes it as a “bright red with pink undertone”. Very true. This is a bright, cool red with a strong pink tone to it. 69 has barely there, extremely fine shimmer in it. I don’t even know if it was worth mentioning the shimmer, its essentially invisible. 69 has a very rich, creamy finish. This red is pretty strong, but the pink undertone makes it fairly wearable for me. For a glossier finish, I like to top 69 with The Body Shop’s Born Lippy gloss in Strawberry.Urban Decay’s Revolution Lipstick in 69 is fantastic. The full sized packaging is sleek with an edgy touch. Take your time applying this lipstick. I’m very pleased with this lipstick’s longevity, though transference can be a problem. 69 is a richly pigmented cool red that I would almost call a very deep pink. I really have nothing negative to say about this lipstick. Congratulations Urban Decay on creating a wonderful lipstick formula with a beautiful shade selection (oh how Bang calls to me). While I don’t personally have the room in my budget to spend $22 on a single lipstick, and won’t purchase any Revolution Lipsticks for that reason, I do think they’re worth the money if you’re willing to spend it. I wish I had the money to be an Urban Decay fan girl. All around excellent product.

This lipstick is amazing. I’ve got Anarchy, Protest, Cafight and now 69. This is a pinky red lipstick with a nice glossy finish. It doesn’t feather or budge at all! In fact, I just finished eating an apple while wearing this. It looks like I freshly applied it and blotted it with a tissue. It’s not drying and it stays all day. What else could you ask for in a lipstick? I’m definitely going to try the other nude colors based on the staying power of the bright pigmented colors I’ve tried.

I have never been a huge fan of UD. I don’t know why. They’ve always had a lot of great colors to play with, but something about that awful shiny purple packaging just cheapened its product for me. Snob, I know.
Thankfully, my BirchBox last month came with a little sample of UD’s Revolution Lipstick in 69. Hell, I love red lipstick, so I gave it a try.
OH. OHMYGOD.
As I’m writing this, I just purchased the lipstick in Bang and in Venom from Sephora. I’m obsessed with this formula! It’s long lasting, glossy, moisturizing, and rich in texture. PLUS, it’s about $10-15 dollars cheaper than its counterparts.
One little thing – it DOES rub off a little bit since it’s glossy. I don’t like to do that tissue blot with this one because it loses the glossy texture. It doesn’t intervene A LOT with it’s stay on your lips, but just be careful when you’re eating or drinking because it will leave a mark. (I have a weird thing about lipstick marks. I hate them. So unlady-like.)
