After recently discovering Essence cosmetics and placing a couple orders, I received a Catrice coupon with my order as they are sister companies. I was looking at the Catrice website and stumbled upon these Pure Shine lip balms. I took a chance and ordered several as they were $2.99 each. I like these quite well. I ordered in Rose and Woody, Feels Like Silk and Sheer your Mind.
Feels like Silk, this is essentially a sheer color, it’s very nude but sheer, it almost looks clear on but has that hint of a light nude. I would just consider this a clear shiny balm.
Sheer Your Mind, same as above but maybe has a hint of peach in it, but looks almost clear on and doesn’t have much color payoff at all.
Rose and Woody, by far my favorite, offers a hint of color, kind of a rosey brown but it’s sheer. This offers a good amount of shine as well but it’s not overdone. I ordered three of these and thought that would be too many but I will likely order more, I have been looking for a product like this for a long time and it was in the sale section so i fear they are discontinuing these.
Too bad really, this is a nice low maintenance lip product which is what I migrate towards nowadays. I like Jordana’s Balm Stain in Terra Crave but really dislike the stain itself but the color is nice. This shade reminds me a bit of that but without the stain which on me is orange, not all that flattering.
I absolutely would repurchase Rose and Woody, and likely will grab more before they disappear. The other shades, probably not. They are nice options for a clear shiny balm but I much prefer the Rose and Woody shade. Who knows maybe I will try some other colors.
5 stars all the way, I am hopeful they decide to not get rid of these. These are a very pleasant surprise and I will definitely try other Catrice products.

I own both 050 Cherry-ty and 030 Dont think just pink and I simply love them! Cherry/te is red, more a raspberry red and Dont think just pink is a beautiful soft pink.
They feel great on my lips, no fragrance and the staying power is quite good. I can wear both of these shades for 3 hours without a touch up, quite a good pigment on both.
Now I only wish they had a true orange lip balm as I dont really like orange lipsticks (usually too much pigment).

Catrice says:
Make a sparkling appearance with the new must-have for every handbag: the creamy Pure Shine Colour Lip Balm pampers your lips with moisture and leaves behind a smooth, shiny finish. Instead of a sticky sensation, your lips are pampered with plenty of care and a pleasant fragrance. Application is as easy as child’s play with the twistable mine. And thanks to the light coverage, you won’t even need a mirror.
I say: bye bye Clinique Chubby sticks, hello Catrice Pure Shine Colour Lip Balm!
Like I said on a couple of other reviews on Catrice (lip)products, I had no clue they didnt add fragrance on all their products. I usually use Clinique make up items but sometimes I just want to spend € 5.00 on a product and not € 20,00. So I got 5 different lip products by Catrice for only € 14,00 (they were on sale, 2 lip products for only € 5,00) and Im so happy with them all!
Í love Clinique’s Chubby sticks but usually buy one (the red or darker pink one) and finish them in 4 months time (Im not someone who owns tons of l/s or l/g, I usually have 3 or 4 on rotation). Now I have 5 lip products for not even the price of one Chubby stick (€ 20.00).
I really love the colour pay off and they are so moisturizing!
Shades of the lippies on the pic I uploaded:

030 Dont think just pink

A very good product! I am from singapore and idk if this cosmetics brand is too underrated or what! So far this doesnt disappoint me at all, it does what it do as a color lip balm. Very affordable and with a nice sheer color. I got this in 2 Rusty in peace. But in terms of pigmentation I prefer revlon and other brand, but for moisture and sheer color this is the best. I like how it has a slight buttery smell or maybe is my nose, love it!

I bought mine in 03 Don’t Think Just Pink. This is really awesome! Too cheap but quality is already comparable to Clinique Chubby Stick which is 3x expensive. It’s moist with the right amount of color. I don’t have issues applying it every hour or less as it keeps my lips moisturize and shiny. The color I bought is a subtle pink with a bit of brown tone. It’s suitable for an everyday wear in the office. I’m glad Catrice cosmetics is finally in the Philippines. I will surely be addicted to buy in hauls!

Nice basic coloured lip balm in crayon shape. Not very opaque, but gives enough colour to keep me happy. I have it in the red version, which is a natural red on the lips. I wore this every day on my last holiday as it’s so versatile. Price is also fine, don’t remember the exact price but as it’s Catrice I can’t be more than 4-5 euros. The other colours aren’t very flattering for me unfortunately so I will not buy an other one.

i wrote a full review on my blog http://www.daisyperson.blogspot.com but basically i love this product, it’s beautiful and moisturizing but i was a bit disappointed with the poor lasting power which can be expected from a lip balm

I did not know quite what to make of this product at first. There was no tester for this, though price was affordable enough and this is a brand I trust a lot, so more or less a random purchase. I love lip pencils and the creamy ones I have had were not lip balms. So this being a lip balm in pencil format was a surprise. And yes, the name should have been a clue “pure shine colour lip balm”.
And a colour lip balm with some shine is what this is. I picked 040 my cherry berry, which looked quite dark but is a very natural pink on my lips.
The formula is a winner, this seems to be a very sheer long lasting lipbalm with some lip defining properties which seem unusual in a lip balm. Even the longevity is unusual in a lipbalm or anything this sheer.
About the packaging, very classy, above its pay grade, solid and nice, no need to have a special sharpener, just twist the bottom. But I have a small nitpick, I do not like these lipsticks disguised as pencils. This is just a normal lipstick like tube with a plastic pencil like exterior, making it a bit bulkier than it has to. Also for sheer lipsticks you can apply without a mirror, I prefer my lipsticks (or lip balms) in a slanted tube, like shiseido´s or clinique´s almost lipsticks, I find that edge of the tube is such a big help to apply it reliably within liplines, So very good packaging of its fashionable kind, I just like the old fashioned kind better.

I have this in 010 Rose and Woody and I absolutely love it. The pigmentation is sheer, but enough to be clearly noticeable. This particular shade is a good MLBB, and helps polish off a neutral daytime work friendly look. But I find myself reaching for it all the time, because it moisturizes as well as the best of them. It actually feels as though I’ve given myself a special lip treatment after wearing it. It feels soft and light on the lips. It has very little staying power, maybe a few hours at most, but because it feels so darn good, I love reapplying it. It does have a light vanilla-type scent to it, but I actually like it (which is rare for me) and find it far preferable to any sweet smelling lip products I’ve come across. Thankfully it has no flavor. Since purchasing a few months ago, it has become my go to daytime lip product and comes with me everywhere in my purse. Because the color is neutral, it tends to work with most looks. I plan on buying more of these in My Cherry Berry and Cherry-ty soon. Maybe right now.
One complaint, and this goes overall for the Catrice company: the prices continue to rise. Granted, 5 euros is not a huge price tag, but it is on the higher end of budget pricing. The Essence longlasting lipsticks that I love so much only cost 2,50, and those are full on full color lipsticks. 5 euros seems a bit high for what is essentially a tinted lip balm. But, I did fall in love with them, and they will be getting at least another 10 euro out of me.

This is Catrice’s take on the Clinique Chubby Sticks at a fraction of the price. Namely, they are a big pencil shaped tinted lipbalm which you twist out. I have this in 020 Rusty in Peace which is a sheer nude peach. It’s not very pigmented, especially compared to the Chubby Sticks, but it feels more moisturising and still has coverage. I find this a good product for touching up on the go as it’s easy to apply, but it’s not the best lip balm if you have chapped lips.. Otherwise it’s fun and has a lovely vanilla scent. A good purchase.
