Hot Kiss looks bronze in the tube but appears a beautiful natural rosey plum with a subtle shimmer (on my moderately pigmented lips).
MLBB – does not settle in lines, shimmer makes lips look plump and youthful, the color is a subtle but definite step up from my lips. I don’t even need a mirror to apply. Fades beautifully overall long period of time. You could pair it perfectly with Tawny Writer lip liner – see review.
Undetectable by my husband, who hates lipstick!
Lasts well, no synthetic taste or smell.
I enjoy wearing it for an evening out, but don’t use everyday because I’m trying to go organic and natural for everyday (see my reviews of Etherealle and Ellis Faas).

My absolute favourite lipstick at the moment. It’s got this nice brown colour to it without being old or gothic. The product goes on really well and isn’t dehydrating on the lips. This isn’t one of those lipsticks you can use without lip liner because it does bleed into the creases. Hands down best colour for Autumn and Winter.

This is a great brown for fall. My husband loves it on me. I will definitely repurchase!

I’ve gotten this in a couple of PWPs & I must admit I adore it! It looks more luxe in the gold tube rather than GWP packaging, it’s much more impressive to whip out but the stuff inside is what counts but I like to critique the entire experience. Hot Kiss sort of reminds me of the Sephora Pantone 2015 color (Marsala). I would definitely repurchase this but when I was picking out EL makeup at xmas I totally skipped over Hot Kiss & I wish I had bought it for myself & gifts as well coz its a wonderful shade. It’s unimpressive sitting there in the tester (& I don’t try makeup on myself, I make the SA’s test on their own wrists!) so this got overlooked accidentally but I love EL makeup, it’s yet to disappoint me (& for such prices if it did it would be getting returned pronto!). EL is 1 of my very fave brands. Hot Kiss is a burnt rust penny brown with nude on me (but not super intense!), warmish neutral not too terribly cool (cool colors look awful on me, but YMMV!), kinda like MAC “O” but “O” is more prismatic & catches in the light but Hot Kiss is less frosty & less dimensional. Hot Kiss is so pretty & can be worn day or night coz it’s not too goth, vampy, bright, dark, nor trashy for being such a deep color. I tend to avoid deeper colors, nude or pale is my stand by & this isn’t in my usual color wheel house but it’s simply lovely! Mine was USD$32.50 for a PWP that contained this lipstick (& a bunch of other items!), but it retails for approx ~$27 individually atm at Macy’s.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick “Hot Kiss” Shimmer.
I received this in a 2012 Estee Lauer gift set. Love the consistency- it’s creamy and soft. Color is a surprisingly flattering brownish red. Reminds me of old Hollywood andf Katharine Hepburn. Classy style statement.
Cons- Lasts about 3 hours, Slight “lipstick” smell I don’t like.

The color makes me somehow look gothic, lol. I feel the color applies inconsistently, and has a synthetic taste and smell.

I won this lipstick in a draw for an Estee Lauder basket at The Bay. I think it’s the deepest shade of lipstick that I own and I thought it’d wash me out. It actually looks pretty good. It applies and wears very well. I can’t see myself repurchasing this because I don’t wear dark lipstick very often. It’s definitely a quality lipstick and a surprisingly flattering shade. But I think I can find something just as nice for a bit cheaper (ie MAC).

A friend of mine got this as part of a gift with purchase and, although it wasn’t her color, she knew it would be a perfect color for me.
She was right! There’s something reminiscent of MAC “O” about this lipstick. While I love it, I still prefer MAC “O” but it’s certainly a very close dupe IMHO.
In digging around in my makeup for something to complement my new platinum hair color, I stumbled across this lipstick, which I had all but forgotten about. While the poster below indicates it goes well with her new dak hair color, it also goes well with my white/platinum hair. It really is a lovely shade and, although this tube was a gift, I certainly intend to purchase it when I’ve used this one up. Great for work or on the weekends, just really versatile. While not my HG go-to, it’s certainly never a “wrong” choice as it goes with just about everything.

Received this with as a GWP last fall. I used it a few times, liked it but ignored it for the most part. I guess I was too excited with the stuff I purchased from E.L. at the time. I colored my hair a darker shade last night and decided I needed a richer lip color for work. This shade is very pretty and versatile. If you put it on in a traditional “lipstick” way it is rich and slightly bold. But if you blot it on and buff it a bit it turns into a lovely “just kissed” stain, hence the name “Hot Kiss.” Perhaps that’s what E.L. had in mind when naming this shade. I am wearing it today with a shot of mark shimmering shell gloss over the top. I will always love the quality of Estee Lauder but the prices are so high when there are so many other cosmetics that are comparable at much lower prices.

My mom uses this lipstick as one of her HGs, and it’s extremely creamy and pigmented. Not really my color–I prefer nudes and lighter pinks, but it looks great on her and is one of the more moisturizing lipsticks I’ve swatched.
