This new permanent matte lipstick collection from Estee Lauder is absolutely stunning.
As a red lipstick junkie, I was between Irrepressible (a deep brick red) and Decisive Poppy (a bright blue red) but I chose Irrepressible and I’m so glad I did.
The shade is an amazing deep brick red which looks stunning on my NC 25 skin.
I was pleasantly suprised with the finish which is matte but so luxurious, you can definitely tell you wear an expensive lipstick rather than a drugstore one.
It is more matte than the majority or the high end ‘matte’ lipsticks i have ever tried before. At first it tugs a teeny tiny bit but once it warms up on your lips, it glides beautifully like a dream.
The pigment is amazing. You get full color pay-off with one single swipe. It is probably the only matte lipstick i own that i wear one coat because it is enough and dont want to waste it.
The longivity is phenomenal. I wore it for 8 hours straight and it didn’t need re-application, because it did not fade at all. It was very comfortable and did not dry out my lips but it wasnt very moisturizing either. Also i wore it without a lip liner because it is matte enough to not bleed around your lips.
The tube is square and glossy, mostly dark royal blue with golden details. The top of the cap is golden and the brand logo in engraved. The cap closes with a magnet strong enough to ensure that it will never open inside your purse and make a mess. After all, it is so expensive that you can’t afford to ruin it inside your bag!
It is quite expensive but it is that kind of lipstick that you buy as a treat to yourself and feel very luxurious everytime you take it out to apply in on your lips.
I am definitely going to buy it again and I want to try out more shades, like Desirous.
