Thank you L’Oreal for making this amazing line! After years of trying to find the perfect nude for my pale, cool skin tone skin, Jennifer’s nude is it! It’s what any woman of fair complexion would want…your lips, only better. I’ve tried Freida’s nude too even though it’s marketed towards olive complexions, this suits pale skin just fine but with more of a shimmer. I usually buy higher end lines like Dolce & Gabbana. I’ve been using their Shimmer lipstick as my go to but at $34 a pop, it ain’t easy on the wallet for everyday use. L’Oreal’s line affords more play-ability. I love the creaminess and the packaging is beautifully done but I’m a bit ambivalent towards the scent, which is tolerable but could be improved upon by the company. The lasting power I’d say is a tad above average meaning it’ll stay put unless your locking lips or eating, which in any case one would want reapply. I find it moisturizes nicely and doesn’t settle into any fine lines. All in all, it’s a stellar performance with quality more comparable to department store brands. Well worth the buy. In fact, I’m looking forward to trying Julianne’s Red next.

Generally speaking, I love L’oreal lip products (and I can even handle the ‘old lady smell’) and I sooo wish I could like these, because the colors on swatches online and many of the girls and ladies I see on youtube who wear these always look lovely. But for whatever reason, on my lips they look bad, I have several of these now (did not learn my lesson..?) and none trip my trigger. In fact, they all pretty much just dry out my lips, even if I wear a balm underneath. They show off every single line on my lips, not flattering at all. So not only do the colors look way different on me than a regular swatch, they just wear badly and perform badly. They do leave a stain, which, I guess might be nice? But to get to that stain I have to “suffer” with a weird-looking color that emphasizes all the lines on my lips, and even show me some I never knew I had!! :/ And yes, that typical old-lady L’oreal lipstick smell and the tube that can be a pita to close..*sigh* It is a shame, because I typically love all L’oreal lipsticks and most L’oreal lip products, just, for whatever reason, the formula on these does not do well for me. Again, I so wanted to like these, but L’oreal seems to have dropped the ball on these for me performance-wise. That all said, while I love many of the L’oreal lippies, just not the Privee line…just did not work for me, at all…:(

I got the lipstick in the shade Jennifer’s Nude and I absolutely love it! It is a warm pink-nude colour and it looks amazing against my fair skin and strawberry blonde hair. It’s been a long time since I found the perfect nude lip and THIS in fact is now my every day lip colour and I love it! The smell is almost candy like, and the finish is satin. It does need reapplication after eating, but why wouldn’t you want to reapply? It’s so satisfying to do when the colour is so pretty! The price is a little high for my taste, but that’s L’Oreal for you. But I love this and I will buy this for as long as I live!! I swear it’s that good!!

Perfect nude for my fair skin. Has a bit of shimmer. Peachy pink. Sturdy packaging. Would repurchase.

Lately I’ve been avoiding drugstore lipsticks because it seems to be nearly impossible to find one that hasn’t been smudged with some strangers lips like they’ve been “sampling” everything. Maybe it’s the beginning of OCD for me, but oh well. The thought of that just grosses me out.
Anyway, onto my review. I kept passing the nail polishes and Frieda’s nude caught my eye every time I went down the aisle (I’m such a makeup junkie that I absolutely must go down the aisles, no matter what.Yeah, I know I need a life.) It seems almost identical to another polish L’Oreal carries, except that Frieda’s nude lacks some warmth and is more of a shimmery, neutral copper. I normally don’t care for the quality of their polish after being spoiled by OPI, but I gave it a chance and I’m glad I did. So the week after I bought the polish I was back at the store, strolling down the makeup aisles (of course), and lo and behold, I noticed the privee collection lipsticks. I bought Frieda’s nude, and I was so pleasantly surprised to find that the lipstick was more sheer and a lot less coppery than the polish. Even though it’s pretty and unlike any other color I own, I won’t be repurchasing it because there are so many other colors I prefer to wear on a daily basis. But still, it is a pretty color to keep on hand. And for reference I’m nc35, with a fairly yellow undertone.

I have these in Cheryl’s nude and Jlo’s nude. Cheryl’s nude is a gorgeous and very natural looking pinky beige on me, gorgeous texture applies like a dream. I find it nicely moisturising. It doesn’t drain me so that is a big plus. Jlo’s nude is similar, maybe a tinge more pink- both are just perfect. They both need reapplication after eating, however that is to be expected and these are satisfying to re apply! Loving the packaging. All in all fab lippies IMO. Waiting to receive my Eva woo hoo !!!!

I have this lipstick in Jennifer and julianne. Jennifer is the perfect nude for me even though she has a much darker skin tone than I do. It’s very sheer and not too light. I have pigmented lips and light nudes look terrible on me. This doesn’t pull too warm either. Julianne is very pretty and I keep it in my purse to just throw on whenever.
Yes they have that loreal smell, I actually don’t hate it since I remember playing in my grandmother’s makeup when I was younger and she always had loreal lipsticks. It brings those memories back for me. They do wear off quickly which doesn’t bother me, I like being able to finish a lipstick, I have so many I never finish them before they expire.

I purchased Jennifer’s Nude and I’m very impressed. It’s a very creamy, kind of sheer pinky nude with some light shimmer. It’s perfect for those who like a subtle nude lip (aka ME) and the sheen is just absolutely stunning- makes my lips look so plump! I also bought Frieda’s nude which is a beautiful iridescent purple-y shimmer based lipstick which I pair with other lipsticks/lip glosses and it looks so beautiful. Darker skin tones could wear it alone and absolutely rock it. Since they are so creamy/sheer, the lasting power is not good, but I honestly don’t mind reapplying this lipstick since it’s so easy (and somewhat enjoyable) to do.

It’s unsealed, so when you buy this, make sure it hasn’t been previously opened.
I have NC20 skin and I’m using the Julianne lipstick. It offers a nice subtle pop of baby pink on my lips and applies smoothly. I find that it’s pretty moisturizing and it feels like velvet on my lips! It doesn’t last for very long though and the colour isn’t strong.

I have had a terrible time finding these in “untested” condition! I really wish these were completely sealed in plastic, so people wouldn’t ruin them by testing them. I’m sure the companies would lose much less money by having testers available rather than tubes and tubes of ruined lipsticks that can not be sold.
I recently picked up the JLo shade, I really wanted the Eva, but I couldn’t find one that had not been tested and ruined.
Ignoring the scent (which is so reminisant of my teen years), the formula is a lovely moisturizing one. As for the color, I am of similar coloring to J Lo, however I have very pigmented lips. This does cover the dark pigment, however it is a bit too light on me. I do like it, however I will not rebuy this one. I will continue the hunt for the Eva. I believe that color will suit me better.
I am hoping L’Oreal will make some of these permanent. I think the creamy moisturizing formula is lovely.
