Interview – this is a dupe for Mac Velvet Teddy, which was my hg lippie but its really drying so I was on a hunt for something similar. I’ve tried Very Victoria but hated how fast that one fades and dissapears into thin air. Interview is a gorgeous mid tone brick peachy brown nude. Its classic and would look good on everybody. Its neutral enough not to pull orange and isn’t so pink that its too cool. Lovely everyday color for the office or a lunch date. this shade withstand a bowl of pho noodle soup and some eggrolls wrapped in lettus. I checked the mirror after my meal thinking no way there would be any lipstick left. It was still intact and not patchy at all. My favorite way to wear this is apply only a thin layer and blend my lips together for a soft wash of color. When heavily applied, I find this color to be a bit too dark for me.
Graduation day – this is similar to Mac Whirl but less dry and more smooth on the lips. It is a muted mid to deep plummy brown nude, this color makes my teeth look super white. It is described as warm toned but not on me. It is a daytime “vampy” color. Its super opaque and looks a lot more uniformed and neat on the lips than Whirl. This is very 90s and my pick for going out or night out lipstick. This shade got a bit patchy after dinner and i had to reapply. Also this one can be a bit ashy/grey cast in certain lightings on my fair neutral Asian skintone so I dont reach for it as much as Interview. I love the formula and would love to try more colors.
Wedding Day – This one is my favorite out of the 3. I much prefer this for going out day or night than Grad Day. Its a rosy mauve nude but does not lean purple or too cool. Its quite neutral and super flattering. Id say its a shade between Graduation Day and Interview. It isnt as dark/cool/ brown as Grad Day and it isnt as light/warm/peachy as Interview. The name Wedding Day is perfect for this shade because i can see myself wearing this on my big day. I dislike anything red or too over the top/dark on my lips because i am quite pale. This shade is right up my alley because it is a mid tone but still leaning towards the darker spectrum of nude but also with the rosy tone to it to brighten it up instead of looking ashy like Grad Day. I ate dim sum oily chicken and lots of greasy food and this stayed on so well with minmal fading. Even if this does fade, it does it very gracefully
I can’t get over how drying this can be when layered too much. It feels heavy as you layer and I have very dry lips and this just didn’t cut it for me. Not a must have, won’t repurchase but it is lovely colors.
