The Powder Kiss collection is really an underestimated gem. They are so soft on your lips, despite being matte. Even when my lips aren’t in the best (though not the worst) shape, they look amazing with this lipstick on.
The colours are lovely and the effect can be anything from natural with the more nude shades, to very glamorous with the reds.
As with all MAC lipsticks they are quite expensive, so it’s a shame my lipstick broke when it fell from my table and I couldn’t reattach it. Very sad but I do still love it.

I have long loved blurred lip looks, so this was a must-try. I picked Devoted to Chili because I wanted a warmer red. This definitely fits the bill, going in that brick red/burnt orange territory. It’s a fun way to rock a red without it being too bold and bright and in your face.
This applies wonderfully, and feels very comfortable, almost neutral in that once it’s on you don’t really feel it on. It is not moisturizing on me, though. It’s almost the tiniest bit drying. It’s fine if I reapply every now and then, which has long been my habit anyways, but if I’m seeking moisturization from a lipstick or lip tint, I’m not going to reach for this one.
My one issue is the taste. I don’t hate it. In fact, for a flavored lipstick, it’s pretty good. It is just plain sweet, and not like a fake fruit flavor or a weird cough medicine taste some other brands use There’s also the tiniest bit of scent, too, and I can’t quite place it. It’s a bit fake and chemically, but I only notice it if I hold the lipstick bullet right under my nose. Applied on the lips, I don’t notice it at all, so that’s very good.
It’s still great, though, and I love (love!) the color and formula. Plus it fades evenly, leaving a pretty stain. Against my pale skin it looks like a reddened terra-cotta when it wears off a bit. It’s not going to last through eating a hamburger or anything, but sipping coffee or nibbling on a snack and it’ll hold on pretty good and won’t leave a weird ring of lip color on the borders of one’s mouth.

Devoted to chili is a gorgeous shade of orange red. Application is easy one swipe. Hence 2 stars. Formula is severely drying makes my lips peel every time i wear it. In general i find Mac lipsticks super drying but this is awful . Lip balm no help . Maybelline mattes are similar to powder kiss but non drying for me .

I have two of the Powder Kiss lipsticks – Mull It Over and Devoted to Chili. They’re both great colours but Devoted to Chili brightens up my face and is more flattering than Mull It Over. (I like to use this as a cream blush)
Kittenmint described the colour very well – it’s a brick red with orange undertones (on my lips anyways) but subtle.
It suits my NC30 warm yellow toned complexion and I can see it flattering a lot of skin tones.
I need to wear a lip balm underneath as the formula is a wee bit drying for me and I can layer for depth of colour. (otherwise I’d give it five lipsticks)
It’s not as long lasting as a traditional matte formula which is fine with me. It does leave a slight stain after a meal or after drinking coffee.
I hope MAC comes out with more shades in this formula.

I am a huge fan of MAC’s new matte lipstick formula, Powder Kiss. Devoted To Chili is definitely my favourite shade in the line – I have worn it everyday since I bought it, I really am obsessed! Devoted To Chili is definitely a sister to MAC’s original Chili shade. The two are very similar in colour, but very different in finish. The colour of Devoted To Chili is a brick-red with some burnt orangey tones. It is somewhat muted, making it perfect for everyday wear. A lovely red to brighten up your face but without being too ‘in your face’. The shade also helps teeth to look whiter in my opinion. The formula is excellent, very soft and balmy. It blends easily, so you can easily do a gradient lip look. It can be blotted on as a stain, and spread easily with the fingers, or can be built up to full intensity. It doesn’t feel uncomfortable, heavy or drying. It feels lightly hydrating and doesn’t emphasise lip lines. It isn’t transfer proof, but will last through drinking and light eating. It doesn’t bleed or feather, but will smudge if rubbed. It certainly is not kiss proof! It leaves a nice stain on the lips after fading, which is a positive, and fades evenly. This colour looks great on my complexion and I will continue to wear it. It has become my go-to and won me many compliments. I definitely will be picking up more in the range – but this one is certainly my favourite!
