I have this in the shade blackberry and love the color, but hate the formula. It’s extremely watery, which makes it difficult to apply cleanly. I followed other people’s advice and applied it to the inner portion of my lips and used my finger to smudge it out to the edges. I applied directly to clean lips, no lip balm or lip liner. It looked nice, even, and diffused. After an hour of working on my computer without talking, drinking or eating, I checked myself in the mirror and noticed that the color had disappeared from my lip lines so when I smile, I can see where my lip wrinkles have no color, and had also disappeared from the innermost portion of my lips, leaving me with the dreaded butthole lips. Where did the color go? Strangely, it seemed to gather in the center of my lips so that it was a little sticky when I pressed my lips together, and also looked patchy since there was a large concentration of color there and less on the outer and inner portions of my lips. I don’t know if this is a color-specific issue, but I’ve barely used this and threw it out.

While I enjoy the Velvetine formula and the Diamond Crusher is fun for a very blinged-out look, the Plushies formula is not for me. It’s a very thin formula and feels quite oily – it slips and slides its way right off my lips very quickly. Packaging a little too cutesy for my tastes, but I’m not their target demographic, so whatevs. But to me, it’s the formula that counts and this just doesn’t deliver for me. I would not purchase again given the poor longevity and the greasy feel it leaves on my lips.

• Pleasant scent
CONS:
None
Overall, 10/10. I have the shade Butterscotch.

Such a nice lip product! It a very thin and smooth formula that means to be tapped on the lips. It comes out with a pretty diffused semi matte colour. The colours have a nice pigmentation to them without being too sheer or too pigmented.

I love these! I have the shades Pouf, Angelic, Milk Tea, K Bye, Dahlia, and Cider. They’re def transfer proof (if you layer a balm underneath it will stay tacky for a few mins). These are my fav liquid lipsticks because they have the staying power that I’m looking for without drying out my lips and leaving them looking crusty.
A little bit goes a long way, and I’ve noticed that they apply best when using a finger to blend out the product. The darker shades tend to be a bit patchy otherwise (minus one lippie for that).
However, the darker shades are awesome because I can layer them up to my desired intensity. One thin coat gives me the perfect natural stain. Two coats gives me a bold lip color.

These blow Colourpop’s Blotted Lip out of the water for me. I haven’t tried the very light or dark shades but haven’t noticed any patchiness for Cider, Jam, or Butterscotch. The formula is so (forgive me) plush and soft. They don’t dry out your lips and are extremely comfortable while having a nice but not too aggressive matte finish. I dab it on with my finger and it looks heavenly.
I wish they had a full size of Cider or some more red shades.

Purchased these back when they released in Australia in Feb this year after hearing a lot of hype about them amongst YouTube reviews. Out of the many lipsticks I’ve tried over the years, this has got to be the best one to date and has become my absolute holy grail. I literally ENJOY wearing lipstick now because of the formulation of this lipstick, as I’ve never previously liked how lipstick feels on my lips. I heard a lot of hype with this product and decided to blind buy in two shades “Jam” and “Turkish Delight”. I never really liked how red lipstick looks on myself, however this Jam shade was so beautiful.
Pros:
– Feels like nothing on the lips, non-drying (although exfoliating and a lip balm is recommended prior to applying this product)
– Perfect colour range
– Extremely long wearing, doesn’t fade or rub off.
– Soft look, doesn’t have that ugly liquid lip line that most liquid lips give.
– Cute packaging
– Smells really good, wasn’t use to the smell at first however got use to it. (if you aren’t a fan of strong sweet scents then this will bother you)
Cons:
– Can be patchy/streaky with only one layer, hence why I recommend building up the product for a better opaque and coverage finish. Using fingers to even out the product works wonders.
– Tube could’ve been slightly bigger, for the price there isn’t a decent amount of product.
– Price, bought them from Makeupnet for $30 each, which two plushies ended up being $50
I plan on eventually purchasing more shades, I’m keeping a close eye on “Milk Tea” and “Blackberry”. I was planning on originally purchasing Milk Tea instead of Turkish however due to having mostly nude lipsticks in my makeup bag, I wanted to try something new with red and pink lipsticks. Definitely recommend, will be repurchasing this product a million times in the future, might even purchase all shades if I have the money.

EDIT: I recant most of the below. This IS a “less is more” type situation. And it does work over a non-oily lip balm (though stays sticky for a little while). Like one of the reviewers said, just dot a bit and smudge and pat with your finger. Knocking a hippie off for the colour selection — these STILL could be better thought out. I am using Marmalade and it’s a pretty warm nude (but needs to be very sparingly applied, otherwise will turn too orange), the rest are either too pink or purple and look unnatural, like you sucked on a popsicle. But yeah, not as bad as the first time around.
This is tragic.. I really like the Velveteens, so I had high hopes for these and really wanted to love them! Initially I bought the Turkish Delight shade, because the store didn’t have testers and judging by the swatches on the Net, it was a pretty nude pink that I was looking for. Well, it turns out it’s just really really pink, not “dusty rose” as LC describes it on their site, not “nude”, just straight up pink, on the cooler side, too. That was annoying as I was hoping for something warmer than that.. So I returned it, and after a very long debate between the Milk Tea and Marmalade, I went with the Marmalade.. which is warm and peachy, but turns too orange if you over apply. Which brings me to the application — it’s sheer, but is very easy to over apply, in which case the colours turn borderline neon and harsh.. also, the instructions say to apply over lip balm, but then the product goes on very streaky and you start adding layers and, yes, the colour becomes too much.. But without the lip balm these are SO VERY DRYING, you can see flakes forming in real time pretty much during the application! It’s weird how this supposedly sheer formula is so much more drying than their Velveteens. If you’ve managed to apply just the right amount in just the right way — the finish is very pretty, no doubt, but it then wears off rather quickly. The packaging is very nice and cute, so there is that. The price is WAY too high for what these are. The shade range is disappointing — it’s pretty much all on the cooler side, too pink, and about 2/3 of it essentially looks like the same damn shade just lighter or a tad darker. What was the point in making 20 products when you could cover the shade range with 5? It’s just confusing. Unless they improve the drying factor and add a couple more warmer shades, I will not be purchasing any more. This range just looks incredibly lazy, which seems to be the trend with LC’s new releases lately.. Very disappointing.

I usually really like Lime Crime’s products (velvetines and diamond crushers are great) but I am not crazy about these plushies. I purchased Turkish Delight and the color itself is nothing special, kind of washes me out…the formula also dries out my lips and looks cakey if not applied carefully enough…I find myself having to put gloss or chapstick over it. The packaging is so damn adorable though. Overall, won’t repurchase. ETA: I find the only way the Plushies work for me is if I put clear gloss on top…but if I just apply them over chapstick or balm, within ten minutes, they accentuate every line in my lips and make them look extremely dry.

Okay so these have a bit of a learning curve. These really need to be buffed in with your finger to get a smooth application. I use the applicator to dot a bit on my lip and then work it in with my finger tip. This makes it a beautiful, soft, even colour that wears for hours. Weird formula but I love this product. I own milk tea, marmalade, cola and blackberry and I find all of these colours very consistent. Over all I really love these you just need to work with them a bit.
