Totally a MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade. Goes with just about any eye look and probably just about any clothing look. These are billed as “Opaque,” which to me, opaque means very pigmented. I got this in the shade Pinky Nude and while nude does imply natural (at least to me it does), I do not find these to be very ‘opaque’.. am I missing something here? Pinky Nude is moderately pigmented and I did swatch a couple other shades at Ulta and found them to be low to moderately pigmented.
HOWEVER….this is a very nice lipstick!! Applies smoothly, feels creamy, is billed as matte but is not drying to the lips and does not settle in the lip lines (us older gals sometimes have the problem). Again, this shade goes with sooo many looks (or can even be worn alone for quick trips to the grocery store, that sort of thing), and it is a staple that I am happy to have. Wears nicely, does not get gummy or turn funky colors, and I especially appreciate the fact that these have no scent. HOORAY!! I am not really a fan of the packaging, I know some like the sleek black tube, but to me it kind of looks ‘cheap’ and reminds me of the Rimmel lipsticks in the black tubes (sorry!!). That all said, I mostly look to the performance, pigmentation, feel, staying power, and yes, even the scent of a lip product when reviewing it. Packaging is way down on the list, lol!!
All of that brings this to a 4 star rating for me. So why not a full five stars…? While this is indeed a nice neutral lipstick and can be worn with many looks, I just feel overall it is not ‘worth’ the price…Lastly, and this is trivial, but the tube I can see being easy to get dirty. If I am spending $24.00 on a lipstick, I do not want the tube to look cheap or dirty. I just feel there are dupes out there of this, and very likely from the Rimmel line. However, if you like and want to feel pampered and want a nice lipstick that does not dry out your lips (as Rimmel lipsticks can, sorry for the comparison, but this just reminds me so much of Rimmel lipsticks in so many ways), then this is worth checking out. Great for work or school and everyday looks and I think this could also be a great year-round shade; it just goes so nicely with so many shades and looks.
Darker complexions might find this particular shade too light (as many of the shades from this line may be too light for darker skin tones. I am NC15-NC20). I just find that the lipsticks look pretty sheer actually once applied, at least for me, anyway. And I am not even dark skinned. Maybe my lips were rebelling the day I swatched some of these..?
Also, I think this particular shade (and formula..?) seems more geared towards us mature ladies (30+something), but I am sure anyone who likes a neutral lip would probably like this shade.
Bottom line, nice lipstick, great for everyday and is very neutral, feels nice on the lips, applies just fine, but does not last that long. I get maybe 4 hours out of this, max. More often it is barely 2 hours wear time. I kind of expect more for a lipstick that is this price (and yes I know there are lipsticks higher in price, but I am not reviewing them, I am reviewing this one). Again, I am happy to have this in my collection, but I won’t be repurchasing any of these.
Here is the current description from the ULTA site:
“I wanted to create the exact type of vintage glamour I was looking for in a lipstick but with modern touches.” Poppy King, Lipstick Queen Founder
“Poppy designed Sinners to be the ultimate full-coverage matte lipsticks with 90% pigment. The Sinner formula takes creaminess to a whole new level. The formulation glides on, lasts beautifully and feels great on the lips. Each shade has been meticulously designed to be the ultimate in its category – lighting up your face and your mood!”
Benefits (according the Ulta website):
Each Sinner shade is also available in the Saint formulation with 10% pigment for a gorgeous tint of color.
The glamorous look of the Golden Years of Hollywood but with modern comfort and technology
Matte, opaque lipstick with 90% pigment
Moisturizing and long-lasting dramatic color
Fragrance and shimmer free
Oh, and FYI: I did also swatch some of the Saint shades on my lips (that is a true test for me, on my hands, never looks the same as on my lips), and oddly enough, for me, the Saint shades seem just as much or even more pigmented..? Anyway, I do love this color and I am sure I will get a lot of use out of it, I just can’t or won’t say I am a “Lipstick Queen” fan. Nice enough, but not holy grail and not even something I want to repurchase. But it is nice to have a good, quality, neutral lipstick. The next time I go on the hunt for such, I will be a little pickier. 😉

I have been wearing lipstick since 1963 (I know, the Dark Ages), and these lipsticks from Lipstick Queen, both Saint and Sinner, are the best lipsticks I’ve ever worn. The Sinner ones that I have (Pinky Nude, Peachy Nude and Pink) are well pigmented, creamy application and long wearing. What surprises me most about this line is the color payoff. I am fair with white hair and neutral skin tone, but my lips are pigmented on the bluish side. Most lipsticks turn darker on me and pull red around my lips. The Lipstick Queen lipsticks do not do that! Hooray! The color on the bullet is the color on my lips, when I apply it and 5 hours later. I am thrilled! I also tried the Saint line in Pinky Nude, Bright Natural and Sunny Rouge. Lighter color concentration, but long wearing with a little sheen, as the reviewer above noted. The Big Bang Lipgloss in Infinite is a winner, as is the lipliner in bare nude, which works with Peachy Nude and Pinky Nude.
Please try this lipstick line. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

A nice, pigmented & creamy lipstick that feels nice and moisturizing. Normal wear for a creamier formula lipstick. Smells faintly nice, no discernible taste.
Now onto the color: I love this. I’ve been searching for a beiged-out coral and this is actually pretty close! It’s a pinky nude, lol, but IMO it leans warmer, a little on the coral side of pink, which is a plus for me.
Flattering spring or summery nude lip.

This is one of my HG nudes. It looks awesome with just about everything. It is nice and opaque and last about 4-5 hours (not drinking/eating). It looks good during the summer and it looks equally as fabulous during the Midwest winters. The price is kinda high, but the product is good and worth it. I haven’t tried any of the Saint lipsticks because they are sheer. So I can’t say if the Pinky Nude Saint lipstick is equally as good, but I highly recommend trying this nude pink lipstick for my fairer-to medium toned sisters and brothers. It would probably look great on darker skinned tones too if you want a lighter nude lip so don’t be discouraged. Definitely give it a try in the store. If this lipstick doesn’t float your boat colorwise just check out the Lipstick Queen line. Lots of great quality lipsticks that are fun and well worth the investment. My Ulta doesn’t carry these and it makes me sad, but it is probably good for my wallet.
Product has good color payoff. Bullet is well constructed and the lipstick is nice and solid. Glides nicely and is not drying. Looks good on lips and does not highlight dry patches. Wears away nicely and doesn’t give me the weird orange outline where my lips meet skin that some nudes do. Overall I am highly pleased with this lipstick and will buy it again when I run out. Hope others enjoy it too!
