Some reviewers mention the product pilling on their lips and getting a gluey texture on their mouths – I have to agree. The colors do look nice, but what is with the texture?
Very difficult to apply. The lid is also flimsy and ended up coming off in my makeup case quite a few times, smearing the product around. For this price, no I would not repurchase, they need to improve the quality of the formula.

This is a great lip product if you’re a fan of matte liquid lipsticks because it feels the same on the lips and is just as long wearing. The formula is creamy while you’re applying the product but instantly sets and becomes transfer-proof. It’s easy to achieve a precise application. It does look a bit crumbly if you layer it. It does feel quite drying so make sure to exfoliate your lips and apply a lip balm before this. I only wish you could twist up the product rather than having to sharpen the pencil every time. I have the shade Boho.

For someone who doesn’t wear liquid lipsticks that much, this could be a great alternative. It is practically a liquid lipstick in a pencil form!
I think that with a little bit of prep (lip balm or primer) this pencil will wear for hours and hours. It has a beautiful colour range, opacity, pigmentation and glides on like a dream. I use it in the shade Rose, which is a perfect shade for (pretty much) everyone and their newborn puppy.
It might accentuate lines on the lips though, so do use it sparingly if you have naturally dry lips. Once it is on, it is on! No colour transfer, no bleeding, no feathering. If you want to read more about this or the brand’s Intense Matte formula, I have in-depth review with hand/lip swatches here ( other than that I would recommend this pencil to women who love a liquid lipstick, yet want something even more user-friendly.

This is great lipstick! When I first got this in my Sephora PlayBox, I was perplexed. A matte lipstick in a jumbo pencil in the color Greystone. The color was absolutely hideous and I, for the life of me, couldn’t understand why they thought it would be a good idea to create a lip color that resembles the color of mud. It looked horrible on me as it did on all the other people who swatched it….*BUT*, as I was applying it, I couldn’t help but admire its smooth & creamy texture. It applied like a dream and the pencil allowed me to define the borders of my lips with such precision. It’s like a lipstick and a liner all rolled into one and I liked that. Sooo, I decided I would buy one in a better color and I love it! I got it in the shade, “Burgundy,” and it looks so much better on. It stays on forever and while it started to get a bit dry later in the day, it still stayed put, just like it’s namesake, and the color still looked great. The biggest downside would be their scanty color selection. They only have 4 or 5 shades and they aren’t the prettiest of colors, in my opinion. Rose and Burgundy are their best shades. Also at $24, they are pretty pricey. Personally, I would rather spend that money on Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick or Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. Having said that, I still really love my Burgundy tube, so I will give this 4 lippies and hope NUDESTIX releases a better shade selection.

I have tried all 4 formulas of the nudestix lip pencils and I think this is my least favourite of all 4. I’m wearing it right now in Burgundy and I also have it in Boho. What I dislike so much about this formula is how dry it is and how badly it reapplies. Unless you scrub every last bit of the original product layer, it’ll double up on itself and apply darker than the rest of your lip, so it looks really patchy every time. It also isn’t much longer lasting than their magnetic matte lip pencils (which, by the way, are my favourite matte lip colour formula I’ve ever tried) so I’d much rather go with those pencils instead.
They called this liquid lipstick in a pencil but i disagree. It doesn’t last as long as my other liquid lipsticks and it’s far crumblier. Do not recommend for the price.

This was something I originally got in my Ipsy bag back in July of 2017, and I’m both surprised and not surprised that more people aren’t using and talking about this brand. It’s definitely not a superglam, in-your-face kind of brand, more of a minimalist chic brand. But I really, really love this and I have/will be investing in more Nudestix products.
This product in particular is their Magnetic Matte Lip Color, and mine is in the shade Rose, which is the quintessential cool-toned rosey nude MLBB whatever-you-want-to-call it on me. It’s stunning whether I’m wearing heavy eye makeup or wearing only mascara and a little concealer. And, as an educator with limited time for makeup reapplication, the staying power is incredible. It is drying if I haven’t exfoliated and moisturized my lips beforehand, but it stays matte and true to color from the time I apply it at 7am until lunch time, and remains nice after lunch if I don’t have time to reapply. And it doesn’t get gross or cakey when I reapply.
Pros and Cons:
+ The formula is spectacular, as I expanded upon a bit above.
+ SUPER easy to apply. I can line and fill in with no problem.
+ Smooth application.
+ The size and shape of this product makes it perfect for travel and work.
+ It doesn’t get used up super quickly, so good value.
+ Transferproof, at least for me!
– The full price of each Nudestix pencil/crayon is in the $24 range, which is expensive.
– Drying, so keep that in mind if you have dry skin/lips.
– This will not look nearly as nice if you do not exfoliate and moisturize your lips. Invest in a lip scrub or make your own.
As I said before, I will buy this again and I have/will continue to purchase more Nudestix products. These are fantastic.
