This is a beautiful red. Red lipsticks can be tricky as they can often be too bold, or have the wrong undertones such as being too blue-based, too orange, too pink, etc. This colour (Vanadinite) is just right and subtle enough for a day time/every day red lip look. I enjoy the texture of this as well and find it moiturising without being too moist looking. It applies like a cream lipstick and has a slight gold finish which makes my lips look slightly fuller. This is one of few Aveda lipsticks that don’t turn orange on me. I find that Aveda (actually Estee Lauder since they own the brand) lipsticks are mostly available in earth tones and those don’t work for my pale skin with cool undertones. Unfortunately, I got the last tube available at my local store and was told they are no longer stocking this and it isn’t available online – it figures.
