I have passed this by many times at Dollar Tree, thinking it would not look as good applied as it does in the tube. After reading a couple of good reviews from MUA posters, I bought it. Now, I will go back and buy a second tube! It is a beautiful neutral muted pink…not frosty, not chalky, not too shiny or too matte. I can use it successfully with either a warm or cool lip liner. It wears surprisingly well for something that is between a lipstick and a balm and is pretty moisturizing. This is so superior to many, many lipsticks and lip balms I have purchased at a much higher price. EDIT I: I tried this without using a lip liner and, to my surprise, it looked chalky. With a lip liner, it still looks great. Apparently, it needs that extra color nudge. EDIT II: I have found better options.

I just stumbled across this gem of a lipstick at the Dollar Tree. It has a pleasant and mild vanilla-ish/cake batter type of scent. It’s a cream lipstick with no shimmer and applies evenly and smoothly on my lips but then dries to a semi-matte finish. When looking at the lipstick, the color is deceiving – it looks warm-toned, nude brown. However, on my lips, it is a neutral (not cool nor warm), deep nude color (unlike many nude lipsticks, this shade doesn’t give me corpse lips). I am so pleasantly surprised as to how this lipstick turned out on me. This is a great everyday color and certainly office-safe.
I like that the cap is clear so you can easily spot the color of the lipstick. I like that there is a distinct “click” when you the cap back on the lipstick tube as it means that the cap is secure and won’t easily detach from the tube. The one downside with the packaging is that the lipstick won’t swivel all the way down so you have to be careful not to nick the lipstick when placing the cap back on the tube; however, this is very common with cheap lipsticks.
A previous reviewer also mentioned another L.A. Colors lipstick called Mauvy Glaze. I also purchased this lipstick from the Dollar Tree and like this shade as well. I will be writing a separate review for this shade.
L.A. Colors is owned by the same company that owns L.A. Girl. A big bonus is that L.A. Colors is cruelty free.

I love this shade. It isn’t a MLBB on my own self (NC20), but more of a peachy-nude w an almost velveteen finish (I hate super matte). The formula is a bit dry but that makes it last! No obnoxious flavor…Only $1 at Dollar Tree I’m ballin on a budget we made it work when we were kids we can make $20 for a makeup allowance work again LOL =] this lasts 2-3 hours (I’m always sipping water) reminds me of MAC Shy Girl a bit. And LAC is cruelty-free yay!! Nothing wrong w the packaging. The white tubes are cute imo. Label on the bottom tells me what color it is, if in doubt.

L.A. Colors lipsticks in “Natural Shine” and “Mauve Glaze” are my favorite of any at any pricepoint, because of how they apply with a velvet finish that is so flattering. There isn’t the heavy looking sheen of most lipsticks, but isn’t drying matte either. Just a nice comfortable in between, and this particular shade would probably be flattering on many skintones, because it’s a great balanced MLBB nude. Just the right amount of cool and warm, to enhance your lipcolor without washing you out or making lips darker. The newer white packaging makes these look so much less cheap, even though they still only cost a single dollar!
