I don’t own the whole collection of these lipsticks, but this particular one is really good. It is smooth and hydrating, stays where you put it and has good pigmentation. The only complaint that I have is that it can be a tad patchy if your lips are a little dry. I like the formula. It has no taste, but if you finds smells off putting then you might not like this one because it smells like crayons. It is not strong and can not be smelled once it’s applied to the lips. The packaging is good and sturdy, like most elf studio packaging is, and hasn’t broken on me. The lid snaps on tightly, no need to worry about it falling off, but at the same time it’s not hard to remove the lid. The tube is matte black like most of E.l.f.’s studio line. It contains .13oz of lipstick, which is good for $5. I didn’t pay that much for it because I received it in a beauty bundle from E.l.f. (now called the play beautify box) The original store packaging claims that this is a long wearing lipstick, but I disagree. It lasts until you eat something afterwards you will need to retouch. I’m not sure this particular color would look good on people who are particularly pail. Pros-Hydrating as it claims to be, smooth and doesn’t bleed off of lips. Cons-patchy, smell of crayons. Four out of five stars.

Wearing it now, LOVE IT! On my medium Asian complexion, it looks very pretty! Very nice for office wear. It’s moisturizing and is so so cheap! Full price is US$3 and on promotion only costs US$1.50! I like it better than my Bobby Brown, Lancome and Clinique lipsticks even though I spent a bunch of money for those. Totally will buy it again and again!

I just got my first order from elf, so excited!
I’ve already tried ripe rose and I’m really happy with it, it’s moisturizing and the color is really nice, but I thought it would be pinkier and it turned out to be a brownish red.

I like this colour, even though it is darker than I expected. It’s a very wearable medium deep rose colour; like a darker MLBB shade with a bit more rose. It goes on smoothly, wears well, and does not dry my lips as far as I can tell. I will try out other colours.

true to it’s name, it is indeed a ripe rose with a hint of brown colour on my lips. very pigmented (compared to pouty petal which didnt show at all). this is a nice elegant colour for the evenings or even for work if you want something that will make a statement.

It’s a beautiful shade (check out my swatch), looks great on my light/neutral skin. It isn’t too dark or brick red (which is a color that I hate), it’s just a dark rosy shade. When I want to use this shade I apply flawless-skin makeup, and some subtle blush. It’s matte and when used along with e.l.f.’s plump & prime it lasts super long. When I eat or drink something it fades beautifully instead of leaving a ring around my lips, and that’s a very important criteria for me in lipstick selection. If you’re not a fan of matte you can spice this up with a lip balm such as the body shop’s born lippy or any other lipgloss. I will definitely buy this again.

It looked so much lighter on the website. I was looking for a lipstick that would enhance my natural lip color, like Maybelline’s CS Warm&Cozy, and since I was running out of that and ELF was having a sale, I figured I may as well buy this.
This lipstick has a deep red undertone, but comes off as a brownish red; almost maroon. There’s no pink in it at all, which I personally don’t like. It’s wearable; makes me look too old I think though. Still, if I use it lightly, it’s not a problem.
Texture, smooth-ish. Some what creamy, but you do have to rub your lips together a few times so it really blends in.
Overall, decent lipstick. I don’t love it, nor do I hate it. Would I purchase again? No. It’s one of those unnecessary lip colors that I’ll use if I have nothing else on hand.

I have light skin (NW20, BB Sand/Warm Sand), medium brown hair and olive green eyes. I suck the color out of most everything. This shade, though, is MLBB. I see no coral, and the color name seems to be right-Ripe Rose. There is a bit of brown to this pink. I really like this shade for summer. It is semi-sheer, reminds me of a MAC luster or glaze. Wears well, too. It’s a keeper for $2.50, which is what I paid, 1/2 price!

I’m Asian and very tan (too much of the beach I guess). I just love this lipstick. I have bought this for 359 pesos at the SM. This is like my staple lipstick and I dab a little of Revlon’s Beyond Natural Cream lipgloss in Berry on top—perfect pouty lips for me.
This is the best seller here in the Philippines (according to the sales lady). I’m lucky to have the last tube.

The very reasons the other posters hated this lipstick are the reasons I loved it! Ripe Rose is like a neutral on my skin tone. I am tanned-looking (Caribbean decent). This is the colour I choose if I want to have neutral lips with just a hint of pink to them. It is wonderful, emollient lipstick — you almost don’t need balm underneath. Great packaging and price. You can’t beat these, but the swatches online are off!
