I love the formula for ELF’s mineral lipsticks. It’s moisturizing, glides on smoothly without feathering everywhere. The color payoff varies between colors, but is generally true to the color of the bullet. We all know the swatches on their websites are computer-generated and aren’t realistic. Due to this, I researched a lot of individual swatches online.
Cool Coral lives up to it’s name (one of the only perfect names from ELF). It’s a cool coral/pink with a golden/coral shimmer. I really like the color, but it doesn’t suit my coloring alone. I would only use it over another color, but I haven’t found the perfect one yet. The glitter doesn’t necessarily suit me.

This lipstick is just wonderful for me. I’ve been a lipgloss-only kinda girl for my entire life, but recently I decided to give lipstick a go. I performed on stage a lot in my youth and hated lipstick because they felt waxy and heavy on my lips. This lipstick is a refreshing change for me. It’s creamy and glides on evenly and is very build-able. I have naturally pigmented lips so this is almost a MLBB shade for me. The color is a berry-ish red with coral undertones and has a beautiful golden shimmer to it but it isn’t overpowering or a glitter bomb. I wouldn’t say this is a true “coral” shade so if you’re looking for something with more orange or ginger to it, then pass on this one. I wear it over a lip balm and under a gloss (or two) and find that it stays quite well. I’ve put it on in the morning and clear thorough eating lunch I’ve found that I haven’t needed to reapply. I just reapply my gloss when it’s worn off and that helps keep the lipstick from rubbing off. As an unusual added benefit, I’ve found that my chronically dry, flaky lips have actually been more moisturized by using this lipstick. I used to rely heavily on Lush’s Lip Sugar to exfoliate, but now that’s been reduced drastically. Since trying this lipstick, I’ve tried other shades from the Mineral Lipstick line but this is the one I keep coming back to most.

Like all e.l.f.’s mineral lipsticks this product is pretty moisturizing and it doesn’t have a scent or taste. I am really disappointed with the color though, I expected a bright coral (something similar to Maybelline’s Coral Pop) and what I got was a brownish red with gold sheen. I’m not saying it isn’t pretty but it’s very ordinary and I have many (better) lipsticks like this, for example Clinique’s Coral Beach. The packaging is really good for a 3$/4€ lipstick though.
