I find that reviewing ranges shade-by-shade can be very helpful, as sometimes, one color may perform differently from another. Hence the separate review for this one shade (Berry Recognize).
This is a very, VERY pretty berry shade. It doesn’t lean too purple at all; in fact, it has just the right amount of cool depth to an otherwise deep red that gives it beautiful dimension and uniqueness. I’d been looking for a non-liquid shade like this for a while, but after not finding one anywhere that ticked all the boxes, I figured I’d give this one a shot. And I love it. It’s dark against my fair-ish olive skin, but not so dark that it creeps into goth territory (not that I’d mind).
As with any liquid lipstick, it does have a tendency to wear away from the inner lip area more quickly, especially if you eat or drink. But the unique thing about this formula (across all shades, save maybe a couple of the SUPER dark reds) is that you can reapply it over itself and it won’t get flaky or crumbly. The new layer seems to “reactivate” the dried layer, letting them incorporate smoothly.
Packaging is fantastic on these. The doefoot has a divot at the end, allowing the plush applicator to hug the lip and apply the lipstick evenly and with precision. I never have an issue carving out a clean lip line with these. It’s sturdy, doesn’t unscrew in my bag, and looks attractive. I have a number of shades in this range, so I feel like they’d make a pretty display in an acrylic organizer. The shape and format of the packaging reminds me of the Jeffree Star lipsticks, though I can’t speak to the formula.
These seem to hover around the $5 mark, which is an incredible price for a great, vegan and cruelty-free liquid lipstick that performs this beautifully. Speaking to the entire range, the color selection is AMAZING, and I’ll keep buying from it!
