This is a nice lipstick but its a bit light. On swatches it pulls more brown but on me its just a basic pink. This formula is a bit drying and it makes my lips look a bit gross unless I really prep my lips. I’m just not a fan of MAC lipsticks.

I bought this because Kylie Jenner used this shade however it does not look good for fair skin tones! This looked very muddy and gross on my complexion! however I do like Mac’s formula just not this colour!
You do NOT need a finish for this blush. As its from Mackenzie + My lady in Kansas this is a tonic super natural to apply with a brush! You will need to go a bit harder to blend, so when you do use this you should be blending using a pale contour (just above foundation and follow the soft foundation tone in your palette as shown).
When I tried this matte blush this was gross, and I’m not sorry to say, gross & gloomy here and so my finish was all. This has been recommended for super luscious and rather serious luscious skinned ladies only so far so here we go! I did like my coverage though, mainly because it was an improvement in brightness and volume, and also because of the soft coverage that its form consistently dries down (you can feel it’s already settled in your skin even though it’s still watery). I felt this was more drying than it looks though I am not sure, but this is what I am gonna be getting out of this!
But I loved how I rubbed this my other pasties out and I don’t feel like doing too much yet though I am quite pleased to have them back (sorry with that!) What I really want to say though is that I just want to say this does not need to smell bad. the shine was nice and almost blinding as the upper part of my nose got a nice ring of colour though as I opened up to it I didn’t feel great that you can apply light into your face.
As for Cosmetics, the brightness was great here and the liquidation was very pleasant while in action so you really never feel like you need to dry your face by looking down into your makeup. It does give you a nice feline bit of overall natural shadowing, but none the less! While I am skeptical about the EL Super Perfect tint it does bring this in to some shine when applied but that’s ok as long as you actually wear it with a foundation.
Feel free to pick whatever this shade is and pick whichever shade you want for the upcoming month!!

I do love Whirl, however, it’s a bit on the expensive side for me and I hate that MAC aren’t cruelty free. I was gifted this lipstick by a friend. I am NW20 for reference – fair – light skin and light, golden brown hair. I’m a 90’s girl at heart – literally – I was a teenager in the wonderful 90’s and this lipstick definitely has that nostalgic vibe for me, I love it. However – I have recently discovered Wet n’ Wilds Mochalicious and it is relatively similar on my skin tone. I actually much prefer Mochalicious for the 90’s look, it’s a little warmer and brightens my face a touch more than Whirl. I also don’t find it as drying as Whirl and I find it more long wearing. I also use NYX Mauve Lipliner as a dupe for the Whirl Lipliner and it works beautifully with both lipsticks.
I’m pleased I have tried Whirl, but more as a reference for what shades to look for as a dupe by cheaper and cruelty free brands. As universally beautiful as it appears to be in most cases, I definitely wouldn’t purchase Whirl myself due to the price and for not being a cruelty free brand.

I got this as a christmas gift and initially thought, oh great its Whirl. Ive went through about 2 or 3 lipliners and gotten a bit bored of it. I much prefer Soar because it brightens up my complexion since it has more pink in it.
Whirl lipliner was what i wore with Velvet Teddy(hg) this is what i thought velvet teddy looked like since Whirl lipstick is a darker brown and has more of a teddy bear feel. I see that another reviewer says this gives you a smokers lip. I cant lie , it does. Lololol but some people dont mind this type of look. It looks kinda grunge imo. My favorite way of wearing this lipstick is with Velvet Teddy in the middle and Whirl on the edges. It gives it a lot of dimension and the two lipsticks work very well together. I use Soar to line the lips, follow with Velvet teddy all over the lips and dab Whirl in the outter edges leaving the middle with VT. It makes my lips super pouty and sexy.
When i had put this on i had low expectations since i know how Whirl lipliner is. But this is a lot more creamy and easy to spread, ofcourse better than a lipliner! Lol but it lacked the vanilla smell of regular mac lippie. The formula is matte and its not the most hydrating. It does go on a bit patchy also unless i use mac prep and prime. Compared to Velvet Teddy, its less smooth but darker. It adds a certain Je Ne Sais Quoi to any look. Its a brown neutral with a touch of rose and as for the lipliner i remembered feeling it leaned more grey and did not look right. This is pretty much the same but not as bad. Though i wouldnt repurchse this but Id def finish the tube because i feel ive grown fond of the look of maturity in a lippie without it aging my face. It just looks classy and adds a bit of oomph to an everyday look without the loudness of a muted red or orange. I did not like Brave, Twig, Brick o La, See Sheer or Syrup when i had tried them on because even though they are muted, its still too bright for me. I like very toned down lipsticks or i go all out and reach for Ruby woo or Diva. Some of the ones that had worked were Velvet teddy and Modesty. The actual color of my lips is the same as the lipstick Faux. I am C1 n20 and i do recommend this lipstick if you are looking for a brown 90s Rachel Green from Friends look. She supposely used the color Paramount but thats discontinued.
Not a must have but im happy to have aquired it. I only wear this to enhance Velvet Teddy.

I like this one (as I am a sucker for those muted warm toned lippies) but I prefer taupe over whirl. I find whirl little bit to deep for my nc20-25 skintone. I think it’s better suited for people with darker complexions than mine, probably. Looks pretty good on the lady in the pic. It’s a little bit drying on the lips, and I know that can be a deal breaker for some people, so… you must take that in count.

I was never into the 90s lip trend, so was avoiding this shade at all costs.
Until I was chatting to a friendly MAC employee and while we were discussing just how awful most warm browns look on me (think Velvet Teddy gone brassy) she suggested that I go for Whirl. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that this shade would suit me so well!
This is literally the perfect brown lipstick for people who do not like brown lipsticks. It is opaque, creamy and wears so well. I think this is a perfect, universally flattering shade that will look great on everyone. I highly recommend it!

Found my perfect nude lipstick!! I tried so many nude lipsticks in drugstore brands like Maybelline, L’Oreal, Revlon, etc and the closest I found was L’Oreal but it still was a touch too light with the pink/beige tones. Then I found Tom Ford Lip Colour in So Vain which was perfect but it was a creamy almost sheer so I was on the hunt for a matte version and MAC delivered! Surprisingly it isn’t drying on my lips and the Whirl matte lipstick has the same mauve based colour like So Vain is perfect for my skin tone. Love it and would definitely repurchase.

Bought this ages ago when Kylie Jenner was known to wear this shade & at first I loved it! It’s a deep brownish mauve colour with a hint of purple ( in my opinion) best paired with the matching lip liner. As it’s a matte formula it can be drying on the lips and there’s supposed to be many dupes but it’s something you need to try at least once in your life!

just tried a tube of this in the “baby MAC” offerings. nice-sized mini for $10. LOVING this color on my lips! i have lips that are two different colors (upper lip is deep mauve and bottom lip is a watermelony-pink/brown). whirl is a beautiful neutral on me and acts as a perfect nude for my NC45 caramel brown complexion. it’s a matte formula … i would prefer it in a creme sheen, but it isn’t overly drying. nice color for us brown women! will definitely have this in my arsenal from now on.

I love this shade to me it reminds me of a 90’s colour I used to wear. About me NW20, blonde hair, green eyes, and very cool undertones for reference. Whirl goes so well with my skintone. The lipstick itself isn’t drying on my lips and it lasts. This shade also makes my eyes stand out. I really like the formula it’s pigmented and for a good lippie I don’t think the price is too bad at all. I think this will be a great shade for me for Fall/Winter as well because it will be a nice shade to wear when I’m not wearing berry colours. Very happy with this lippie I also like to use this with the liner it lasts so long that way. Recommended.
