Wow..simply amazing I have Glam and Confident ( NW45) and they or perfect, The feel is amazing for matte lovers very much like to Revlon Matte balms that came out a year ago. They sell out quick because of the display so ask the counterlady at your nearest Walgreens

Let me take you on a journey, gentle readers. Lol Ok I’m just being silly but really, let me tell you a story of how I came to this.
One day, years ago, I was in a store and I picked up Cover Girl Divine. I *never* used lipstick but it was just too pretty. But it got me addicted to lipsticks and fast forward to now, I have like, 50. But I really, really love that color. And Cover Girl decided to discontinue it. I bought sooo many purples to try and get something mid-purple and nice, but purple is sooo tricky. Most of them were too pinky or too dark, and almost every purple photographs bluer than it actually is. So I thought of getting Mac Heroine, which is actually similar to Divine, but the Mac is matte while the Divine is a cream. I found that when I actually swatched Heroine, I was a little disappointed with how pink it pulled in real life as opposed to those pretty online pictures. But it was still on my list for something to get in the future because it looked so nice.
Then, while poking around CVS because I had a coupon, and bored of seeing the same old things I didn’t want, I just happen to graze a display that had new Matte Milani colors and my eyes instantly fell on Matte Glam. I had never heard of these before – how!? Of course I whipped out my phone at lightning speed to check google images and Makeup Alley to see what people said. The swatches were gorgeous and some images showed it swatched with Heroine and it was an *exact* dupe. Even though it was a dollar more than the Color Statement lipsticks, I didn’t want to miss the chance to snag it, especially with my $2 off. I put it on instantly and loved it right away.
Some people online mentioned how this line is scented with vanilla instead of their standard ‘watermelon’ scent. I never even noticed that was what their other lipsticks smelled like so I had to run over to their usual display just to sniff them lol. But this is WAY nicer, that’s for sure. Some independent reviewers said this color was patchy but I didn’t find that at all. And it’s less drying than my Sangria from their regular line. The formula is powdery and excellent.
But…I can’t conclude this tale without a twist of woe. I wanted to come and write a glimmering review of love for this color and how I didn’t need the expensive Mac at all. I have to say first that this wasn’t meant to be a dupe for my old Cover Girl, which is far more pink and creamy and sadly that color is lost to the world forever. But I did notice that in indoor/evening light, this Milani color has this kind of a mauve pull…almost a muddy berry undertone where on my hand right now it looks reddish. It reminds me of Revlon matte balm in Shameless, but I haven’t swatched that personally. I don’t love that, but I had to disclose all the info. With flash, it looks like a beautiful mid-purple, but this is how frustrating purples can be. So while I add photos, please keep that in mind. Is it a beautiful, well formulated purple matte, especially for the price? Yes. But my OCD mind won’t rest now until I swatch it along with Mac Heroine and take pics to compare. 😛
Update: So I swatched Mac Heroine as well as Mac Up the Amp, because why not, as well as Cover Girl Divine and took more pictures. The Heroine photographs more violet in outdoor and flash lighting and also has more shine to it, even though they are both matte. The Heroine and Divine leave a stain behind, Matte Glam does not. In all honesty, I do think the Heroine is prettier. It has that violet undertone I was looking for. But while they aren’t exact dupes, they are so close in most lighting that I can live with just the Milani for now. I did get Nyx Berry Strudel which is insanely blue toned and pigmented but it’s a gloss and I don’t really like gloss. Maybelline re-released their violet but I opted for J Cats Love which is really bright. I still like this Matte Glam though. It’s a pretty purple lip just not the most crazy one so in a way it’s more wearable. I don’t regret it!
