I think the product itself isnt really good, at least not for me.
I got it and the smell is super pungent, so if you do not like the smell do not buy this.
The gloss itself is pretty pigmented though, so if the smell doesnt bother you ittl be fine/

Essence is a cruelty free company. I purchased this for $4.99 from Shoppers Drug Mart.
This is an odd product. Not necessarily a bad one, but it’s not something I’m overly impressed it. I do own two colours though, a pinky brown nude shade called Beauty – Approved! and a pink berry shade called Girl of Today.
Let’s start off with the name. I’m not really sure how Essence chose it or why, but you might as well ignore it. It’s not a completely matte lipstick and it’s not a gloss either. The back of the tube calls it a velvet matte finish, and I think that’s accurate.
This isn’t an incredibly long wearing or transfer proof product, but I don’t personally mind that. If you eat food, it likely won’t survive that meal. If you are drinking and talking a lot during the day it will also likely fade away, and it doesn’t fade away very nicely. At least it didn’t for me! If left this ring of colour around my lips after only having it on for three hours. I do however talk a lot during my job, drink water frequently, and I probably lick my lips more often than I realize.
This does have a pretty strong scent to it, but I don’t notice it after it’s been applied. It smells like a caramel vanilla cupcake, almost? But a touch too sweet, so it kind of bothers me. It’s not a huge deal though since the scent doesn’t last! It comes with a doe foot applicator that picks up enough product for me to not need to re dip.
I don’t have an issue with either of my colours being streaky, but I have heard that can be an issue with the darkest shade! The product isn’t really bad, it’s just not my favourite so I likely won’t be repurchasing.
