These are simply fantastic lipsticks. I applied some in an airport in Japan, and they were still there 13 hours later when my flight landed. I went home, took a nap, and woke up four hours later to find the swatch still there. Granted, this was my hand, not my lips, but I figured that if it lasts this well, it was worth trying out.
Although this is long lasting, it feels very moisturizing, like a lip butter. I actually enjoy putting this on and have started doing it automatically, the way I do with lip balm when my lips feel dry. The colors are also *very* pigmented. The lipstick lasts a good couple of hours on me with my constant coffee drinking, and I imagine it would last longer on someone whose normal lipstick lasting time is longer than 40 minutes. Although I’m certainly no expert, this formula does feel revolutionary in bringing a long lasting, hyper moisturizing lipstick to the world.
There are a few downsides, one of which is obvious (the price). I bought this on Black Friday for $30 from Bobbi Brown’s website, which seems to be the only place where it’s available in the U.S. This brings about the other major downside, which is color selection. I picked Power Lily and Passion Flower based on the website swatches and my experience with Bobbi Brown tending towards neutral brownish colors. This is decidedly not the case here. This line seems geared towards high drama/evening/night out colors, and both of the colors I chose turned out a bit too bright and too cool toned for me. I still use them because I love the formula, but I’m conscious that the colors are not the most flattering on me. If you’re in the same boat, I suggest going for one of the dramatic reds in the line, since those seem to be the strong point.
