This is everything I’d hoped “Appy” from the same range would be, only slightly darker and more pink-toned. “Lay Over” is a peachy medium nude with pinkish undertones that works as the perfect MLBB shade for me. It’s pretty, sexy, and natural.
The formula is fantastic. Unlike “Appy”, it doesn’t collect in the inner rim of my lips, so it doesn’t end up looking gross within a couple hours of wear. It is creamy upon application, and as it dries down, it sort of settles onto the lips in a satin finish. I don’t find it creeps into my lip lines too much (all nudes do to some extent, but this one only does it a very little bit), and if it does, it’s easy to smoosh my lips together to fix it. It doesn’t feather, and it lasts for hours. When it fades, it does so attractively, almost creating a fuller lip look as it disappears gradually. After a few hours, it takes on a semi-matte appearance, which I enjoy. It’s not drying at all; in fact, I find this formula to be lightweight and hydrating.
The packaging is a dream. You get more product than a typical lipstick from, say, MAC, and it’s only $7 USD! What a bargain. It’s attractive on my vanity, with a printed rose gold tube, and little stars embossed into the lipstick bullet itself.
I have my eye on “LA Lady” next!
