I have brought Scorpio Moon, a purplish pinky plum. Its supposed to be a creme lux formula, but mine is grainy and dry. Its as if it has undissolved dry powder particles I can constantly feel on my lips. I love the packaging but the formula for this one is terrible.

I have this in the color Scorpio Moon, which is described as a “plummy rose” color from the creme lux lipstick line. ColourPop is notorious for not photographing lipsticks accurately; however, this lipstick is one time that I think they got it right. On me (NW 10), it wears just as it appears as in ColourPop’s pictures. And, man, is creme lux a perfect name for this line of lipsticks! Everything about this lipstick feels expensive and luxurious, from the gold metal tube that securely snaps shut to the creamy, long-lasting formula. $7.50 feels like a steal. The only drawback, and this is unique to the Scorpio Moon color from my understanding, is that as the lipstick wears away, it leaves your lips stained a weird bright pink color (hence, one lippie removed from the rating).

Colourpop Lux Lipsticks come in two formulas: Matte Lux and Creme Lux. Matte Lux I rate 3 lippies and Creme Lux I rate 4.5, for an average of 4 lippies for the line overall.
I’m typically a fan of matte-finish bullet lipsticks, but I find Colourpop’s contribution to the genre to be just average. While the coverage is good, the Matte Lux lipsticks tend towards dry, and quickly give my lips a shriveled, wrinkled appearance— something I don’t experience with say, a NARS matte lipstick or even CP’s very own matte Lippie Stix (an excellent creamy matte formula that I recommend over this one). Oddly, the dryness issue improves somewhat after the lipstick gets settled, but there’s no need to deal with that at all, not when Creme Lux is waiting for you.
The Creme Lux lipsticks horn in on what should be Matte’s territory, in that they apply like a creme formula but matte-ify after a brief duration of wear or after a single tissue blot. People seeking a true creme formula, with a lasting and silky-feeling creamy finish, might want to look elsewhere. But for less than $8? If there’s a better bullet lipstick at this price point, I’d love to meet it. I’ve tried several colors, and was satisfied with all but one. All the other shades offered rich pigmentation, smooth application, and a lush feeling on the lips as they dried down. I do not experience feathering or colorbleed with these lipsticks, and kiss-off is minimal once the color has set. I find some colors to be slightly drying and occasionally need to top them off with a touch-up or some lip balm throughout the day. They really are a demi-matte lipstick in creme clothing.
All Lux lipsticks come in packaging befitting a brand that is much more, well, lux— a metal rose gold-colored tube that has some heft to it and shuts with a satisfying click and a secure seal. I’ve never had one come apart, crack, or even show wear over time. I find the tiny stars on the tube to be rather busy and juvenile, but it’s consistent with Colourpop’s overall cutesy aesthetic and I’m willing to deal with it if products this nice are held within!
These are Creme Lux colors I’ve tried, with some notes on each:
Gallop- dark terracotta. Applies with a nice slip and emollience, the creamiest Creme Lux I’ve tried. Very comfortable to wear. Wish it were a little better at adhering to the inner lip. This is the darkest lipstick I’ve ever worn and I was intimidated by it— but it turned out to be an entirely approachable and flattering color. Makes blue eyes pop. Could see this shade working for a big range of skin tones and depths. ****
Scorpio Moon- cool, plummy mauve. Honestly, the formula is not great. This shade is less moisturizing than others in the line, and when the mauve color starts to fade, it leaves a surprising shade of fuchsia! It’s still a gorgeous color. I’d always been afraid of mauvey shades because I thought they’d look sallow with my yellow skin tone. But this I like! Could it be that there is a mauve for everyone, just as there is a red? ***
Money Side Up- medium pink. More bubblegum in color than I’d hoped, but wow this formula! It’s one of the best of the pack. It is so smooth, comfortable and soft— absolutely no wrinkling, smudging, or settling into lines. Enduring wear. Feels high-end. *****
7 Springs- warm orange. The color is more muted and beige than the swatches suggest. And this is the dud— it gives weak, patchy coverage and immediately settles into my lip lines. Honestly it behaves just slightly better than a dollar store lipstick. What happened, CP? **
Flower Szn- bright pinky red. Color is true and you almost need sunglasses to look it. This one requires perfectly smooth and exfoliated lips, as it seems to amplify any little flaw. Yes, this color is like wearing an amplifier in general. Love it for spring and early summer. ****
Update:
I tried three more colors, all of them from Colourpop’s Disney Princess collection. (I feel like a child writing that, but these are all gorgeous, grown-up shades, I promise!) And… could it be that Colourpop even tweaked and improved their formula a tiny bit for this release? I feel like these newer ones have a smoother, more lightweight texture than previous colors, and the scent is different too— honestly it’s subtly reminiscent of sawdust.
Ariel: peachy beige nude. Hooray, a nude shade that doesn’t wash me out! Most nudes are too pink or mauve or even gray-toned on me, but this one’s firmly in medium-peach territory and it really livens up my face and complements my blue eyes besides. Other yellow-toned people might have luck with this one too. It’s smooth and comfortable to wear. However, its endurance is below average for this range, and it has a tendency to leave an orange ring around my lips as it wears off. ***
Belle: rosy berry. I think this neutral shade would flatter many, many people. On me it’s one of those rare lipsticks that looks good even when I’m wearing no other makeup— a deep natural shade. It’s become my go-to color when I want to look polished but don’t want to do a “Lewk”. Somehow it seems like it can shapeshift to either cool-toned or warm-toned depending on the rest of your makeup. The texture is thin with a light slip, yet still gives full coverage in one swipe. It feels almost like wearing no lipstick at all. I recommend it highly. *****
Snow White: candy apple red. While this red is neutral in its balance of yellow and blue tones, there is otherwise NOTHING neutral about it! It’s like an exclamation point for your face. The pigmentation is impressive, and it leaves behind a solid red (not pink!) stain as it fades. It goes on very creamy, yet adheres well to the inner lip, smudges minimally, and shapes my Cupid’s bow nicely. It’s lightweight and comfortable to wear, is slightly hydrating without feeling wet or sticky, and doesn’t bleed. Acts like a far more expensive lipstick. Might be the best Creme Lux yet. *****

I’m constantly trying to find a dupe for MAC’s Kinda Sexy and I read that Colourpop Lux in Uno Mas was very close, so I ordered it (plus 1 other lipstick and 4 lip glosses but that’s what happens lol).
So this review is for Uno Mas and Appy, which are both peachy nude creams and pretty similar in color. Appy is a paler warm nude with a touch of coral, and Uno Mas is a medium peachy nude with terracotta tones. Both shades are g o r g e o u s. These lipsticks have great pigmentation, a smooth creamy texture, nice packaging, an excellent price, and an incredible shade range—but I find them drying and weird on my lips They take work for me to apply, always need prep, and sink into lip lines/show texture. Lasting power is medium, and they don’t fade prettily.
They do have a lot going for them, and I bet they’ll perform better in summer (for me) when my lips don’t hate me, but at this point I’ll only wear a lipstick if it’s comfy and I don’t have to worry about it all day. Lighter nudes are tough to nail, though.

These are quickly becoming my favorite lipsticks. I have LA Lady, Lay Over, Still Crazy, Angel City, 27, and Dream Easy. All are the Creme Lux formula. I bought three with my first order, ordered 2 more, and I really want more. I love everything about them. The formula is so rich and creamy, full coverage, amazing pigmentation, and I think the wear time is really great, especially for a creamy formula. My lips never feel dry while I am wearing them, or after taking them off. Very comfortable. The packaging is gorgeous!! It looks high end, feels very substantial. I’m just really surprised at this level of quality, along with the great packaging, for a $7 lipstick. (I actually paid less than that for the first three, they were having a sale, so they were like $5) I have not tried the Matte Lux or the new Blur Lux formulas in this range, but I if you are one who likes the creamier formulas, or wants to try some, I highly recommend these. Oh, and I found the colors to be pretty true to what I saw online.

These Lux lipsticks are luxe. The case is a sturdy rose gold case with stars on it and inside the lipstick is imprinted with stars. So classy for only $7.
Lipsticks in the case look very matte but they go on creamy. I bought 3 colors and would go back for more. In the same order, I bought Becca and Lipstick Queen and I decided the cheaper lipsticks I bought were just as good and even better. No need to spend $22 on a lipstick.
Colors I bought: LA Lady, a warm darkish rose
Lay Over: peachy pink
Still Crazy: rose

I got the colour ‘Humble Pie’ ..it’s a true Barbie Hot Pink!
The packaging is beautiful, durable, and feels very expensive. Rose gold with little stars on the packaging and the lipstick itself. It has the shade name on the bottom of the tube, so you can see what colour it is when you store it upright.
The formula is very good quality. Very opaque, so only one light coat needed. I love how the formula is not too creamy or too matte. Just the perfect in between. No colour moving around, transferring, or dried up lips. It has a slight play-dough smell if you sniff it, but can’t detect any smell wearing it. It feels like there’s nothing on my lips, really comfortable and it lasts ages (about 5 hours).
I love this as much as Colourpops Ultra Matte and Ultra Satin liquid lipsticks. However the finished application is not quite as sharp as their liquid lipsticks, being a traditional tube lipstick, but still very good.
Would repurchase, and keen to try more colours! 🙂

So far I’ve only tried one of these shades. Specifically Foolish, described on ColourPop’s site as a deepened orange.
First off, I have to say the packaging is gorgeous. The lipstick comes in a rose-gold tube, and it feels solid, not like cheap plastic at all, and not like the lid may be in danger of slipping off after four uses. Inside, you have the star-stamped lipstick, which is a neat touch. There’s a generous amount of product — 0.12 oz. or 3.5 g.
The lipstick itself is mostly unscented, but I do detect a tiny bit of a Play-Doh smell when I put the bullet under my nose and take a sniff. I don’t notice it, however, when I apply it. Then it comes across as totally neutral. It also has no taste that I can detect.
The pigmentation is great. As noted earlier, Foolish is a deepened orange. I’d say that’s a good description, too. I happen to like that — it’s what I wanted, an orange that leaned darker and warmer and slightly into red and brown turf, and not something neon or a bright coral, which seems to be what you find most in terms of orange-leaning lipsticks.
With a swipe or two and you have full pigmentation, and it doesn’t feel heavy or waxy. I don’t think it feels super moisturizing, but it’s not drying either. It’s just neutral in feel, which is what I want, personally, in a lipstick. It doesn’t seem to migrate or settle into lines, but I do admit I tend to touch it up now and then, just because I like to touch up my lipsticks frequently throughout the day. I also like that when I blot it a tiny bit with a napkin, it goes from a more satin-y look to a blotted matte look, and then it doesn’t transfer much on coffee cups, etc. I should note, however, that when it is blotted a bit, it feels drier. But also when I do that, I can press it against my hand, to test, and very little pigment comes off, so it’s got some nice longevity built into the formula.
It’s overall a very nice product. For $7 you get a good amount, really lovely packaging, good pigmentation, and a solid-performing formula that boasts no weird flavors or intense fragrance. I’ll definitely look to buy more of these in the future.
