This is a beautiful neutral, leaning cool red. A true red. I love it, there is only one problem, there is a 99.9% dupe of this balm. It is Standout by Revlon. The only difference is this one is a little more minty. Therefore, I put no on the repurchase unless Revlon stops making this color.

I am shocked. I love, love, love red lipstick, but most so-called “true reds” turn very pink on me, which doesn’t make them red at all. I have also had really bad luck with lip crayons. They seem to all be too glossy or have practically no color. So what made me pick this one up while browsing at Ulta? I guess I just wanted to try one more time, and Tarte is such a good brand. So I took it home and tried it on and voila!! It’s gorgeous. The texture is certainly matte, which I like very much, and the color is lovely. Not glaringly bright but still a real red. It’s pricey, but it’s worth it for a really good product.

This product has changed my life! I’ve never really worn colour on my lips, and always been envious of women who can wear red lipstick. I have fair skin and dark hair, but the matte look of this product really works! I now wear it daily and have had so many compliments. It’s made me bolder with experimenting with other lip colors, but nothing else works like this. I’m based in the UK and haven’t been able to find it over here, but it’s worth the postage costs and the wait to import.
The stick is like a giant crayon and can seem a little dry sometimes. I apply Vaseline underneath if my lips are dry (I.e. in cold weather). It does last for hours with nothing under it though. Smells fresh and minty, slides on evenly with little effort (I can apply with no mirror now which is ridiculous for such a bold colour).

Surprised there’s not a review for this colour yet. This is a perfect red shade for almost any skin tone. The formula is matte, but if your lips are moisturized before application it looks and feels amazing. For some reason I never felt like I could pull off a red lip for every day wear (I have dyed black hair with very pale skin – so you’d assume I’d be all over that). But this is a red that I feel comfortable wearing to school every day. The scent is minty but not too noticeable and it gives your lips a very subtle tingle which I enjoy. It is long lasting – even after eating and drinking, but it is also easy to remove at the end of the day. Overall, this is my new holy grail lip formula and colour. Vegan too. Way to go Tarte!!!
