I got the shade Pour Toujours as a birthday sample from Ulta. It’s not a bad nude color, but a little boring. But the formula really isn’t great. It’s so matte that it tugs on the lips and it’s hard to actually apply. It’s great that it doesn’t transfer, but you can barely transfer it to your lips! I just think a stick lipstick needs more glide. It’s almost like a liquid formula which is fine but those at least are workable because they start out wet. This is very dry, obviously. It’s not crumbly on the lips, but you do feel the dryness. So if this is how they all were then no, I would not purchase this at all.

These lipsticks were really pigmented some more than others. The finish was semi matte it was more like a satin finish. The variety of colors were beautiful they were creamy not drying to the lips I would probably purchase more in the future.

There is a toss up between this product and MAC’s matte lipstick. I find the colors truer within the NARS range, which is a good thing. I can put a little gloss over it and it really dresses it up. I’ll keep in in my lipstick bag.

nars matte lipsticks and chanel’s hydrabase lipsticks are hands down the two best lipsticks that i’ve ever tried. i have nars’ matte lipstick in “congo red”, which is a beautiful deep burgundy red color. the staying power of this lipstick is amazing, and the added vitamin e makes it moisturizing as well. an all around winner.

I love Nars lipsticks. I have 2 matte shades: Heat Wave, a vibrant orange-red, and Pigalle, a muted pink w/slight taupe undertones. Both colors stay on very well and are not drying at all, which is rare for matte finish lipsticks. Heat Wave is, however, what I call a “high-maintenance” color, being that application must be precise. This is one color you can’t whip out of your makeup bag and apply while driving or sitting in a dark movie theater. Pigalle is much more forgiving because it’s a “natural” lip color.

I love NARS lip products. They feel great and last for a long time. Lipstick can’t get much better than that! I have several and would recommend Nars lipstick to anyone!

Nars’ matte lipsticks were a huge disappointed for me: very dry texture and overly waxy smell. The much-raved-about Pigalle left me looking like a corpse, too brown and too dark but of course YMMV.
