While I don’t see myself buying this shade again, I’m definitely interested in trying more shades in this formula. It wears quite beautifully and the price is pretty great.
This shade is described as a dusty mauve pink, and that’s exactly what it is. It was a bit darker than I wanted, but that was just poor judgment on my part. It’s very pigmented and one swipe is all I needed. It took me a few times to get use to the shape when I would do the edges of my lips. If my lips needed it, I used a scrub before I put this on. Sometimes if the skin towards the inside of my lips was peeling, this would turn it into a gross film that had to be wiped away. Most of the time I had no issues. I also tried using it with their lippie primer, but I didn’t notice any difference in the lipstick’s performance, except that it was slightly more sticky. I wear a light layer of lip balm under my lipsticks and had no issues with that.
The formula is interesting. It claims to be matte, but I see it as more of a satin/matte finish. There’s still a very slight shine to it. It doesn’t emphasize the lines on my lips at all and keeps my lips looking smooth and soft. (Other mattes I’ve tried recently have really emphasized the lines on my lips and I would have gaps of color missing where the lines were deep if I smiled.) It doesn’t drag too much and is really creamy. It can feel a little thick sometimes, but that can be fixed with a quick blotting. It’s usually comfortable, but can be a little sticky sometimes. I especially found that if I wore this on windy days my hair would stick to my lips (which I hate in a lipstick). It’s not drying or moisturizing even though it has some moisturizing ingredients. It can be worn for a long time, but still needs to be touched up after eating. I didn’t notice this bleed or feather much, but it transferred like crazy. It gets on everything. There’s also a sweet scent to it, maybe vanilla.
Overall, especially for the price, it’s a pretty nice lipstick. I’ll be trying other shades.
