Unfortunately, this product is a huge fail. With a little more work, I think it could be great, but as it is now, it needs to go back to product development.
I bought this in two shades–Send Nudes and Night Mauves. Since DianeL did such an outstanding and thorough review below, I’ll just quickly give my impressions. Both shades are lovely with my NC 15-20 complexion, and I think the “ghost pearl” thing is more than a gimmick–both shades really do make my lips look fuller without looking shimmery. I found the wear time great (more than six hours with drinking) and the formula non-drying (but not moisturizing, either). However, the texture of the crayons is very soft, which makes them difficult to apply, and I found Night Mauves much softer than Send Nudes. I started putting it in the refrigerator before I applied it, which helped, until the crayon broke off near the base. (I store them tip down so I can see the shade names because the caps are all the same, and guess dropping it into my storage box was too much force for this crayon.) One day I pulled off the cap and found the length of the crayon protruding from the cap and the tip thoroughly flattened. The usual tricks to fix it were unsuccessful due to the softness, so I no longer have a crayon that’s easy to apply (well, okay, it wasn’t that easy). I like the shade well enough that I may put it into a small container and apply with a brush, but I certainly won’t repurchase the product. I’m quite disappointed because, as I wrote above, it could be a wonderful product with just a little more work. Sorry, Marc. You need to up your quality control.

Uughh, another MJ fail for me. I want to start by saying that I LOVE the color, I got Send Nudes and it is absolutely beautiful! It is a mauve nude with the most beautiful sheen that is not flat matte in the least! It is just a beautiful color! The perfect winter lip color for me! That said, I really thought I liked it initially because of how creamy it felt when I demo’d it. It was just so soft on my lips, but that was from a sample…..needless to say, it is almost too creamy to get a good application with this packaging. The tip doesn’t stay sharp and there is no way to sharpen it with this packaging. I also noticed (after I bought it and had actually applied it from the package) that it was bleeding outside of my lip line. I chalked it up to user error because I didn’t put it on with a mirror, but to my disappointment it happened again…and again…and again. I am keeping it because I am determined to find a way to make it work for the sake of the color. It is also expensive for what you get, both product amount and the packaging. Most MJ packaging is pretty luxe and functional, but this is almost like a marker, which I do not enjoy at all. I’m so sad about this!!!

I got 3 colors, Send Nudes, Night Mauves, and Burn Notice(added this to the order for one of my friends). My favorite of the three is Night Mauves, then Send Nudes(2 of the lighter shades in the collection) and these 2 also look nice mixed together, and then Burn Notice. Burn Notice too is a really unique and beautiful color but that color doesn’t work as well for me. It’s a little dark and has too much brown in it. It looks stunning on my friend her with dark brown hair and brown eyes she took that one.
This isn’t a true matte. It doesn’t have that dry, flat look that most matte long wearing ones have. It feels good on my lips and lasts on me about 4 hours. It did wear off some when I ate but it leaves a stain so it doesn’t look bad. If I re-apply after 4 hours or so, I can get about 8 hours out of it. For some reason the color Send Nudes seems to go on a little smoother and last a little longer than Night Mauves but there isn’t that much difference that I would not repurchase it because I do like it a lot. They aren’t as drying as most mattes, but they are still a bit drying after wearing them all day, but all of long wearing mattes dry my lips out somewhat. My lips are my problem area, they are always dry. I put some of my lip balm on then let it sit for about 10 minutes, wiped it off then applied these and it did help a lot with them being drying to my lips but it also seemed to affect the length of time before they began to wear off, but it definitely helped with the dryness.
I would definitely repurchase Night Mauves, and I do love the way these look on my lips. Matte but not flat. Not glossy, just barely dewy looking but no real shine or shimmer. I can’t say how long these will last before being empty because I haven’t used one up yet. I will try to remember to come back and edit this when one of them runs out. I’ve been using them almost every day and usually applying twice a day.

I got this product in Night Mauves in a Sephora spring 2018 new lip product pack (highly recommend). I’m not a fan of this. It is too drying for my preference. It does dry down almost immediately and the color is true (what you see in the crayon is the color as applied (at least on my lips). I would not repurchase

The Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crayon is an overpriced lipstick in a plastic crayon form. It is problematic that there is no way to sharpen these- especially since the tip dulls extremely fast. This makes it difficult to use as intended to outline lips and then fill in (or color in) the lines. The formula is light an airy- feels nice on the lips. This doesn’t last a long time without needing to reapply, although I did like that it didn’t dry out my lips at all. If this were priced significantly less it would make it more appealing, but there are so many mistakes in the design and execution of this lipstick it makes it difficult to recommend.
