THE NEW version of this is much better. It’s a very flattering pink/mauve/rose lipstick that has a hint of glow but is basically matte. The older version of this was super shimmery and frosty allbeit a tasteful lighter mauve.
This has a yummy sweet smell that reminds me of candy, it may be a turn off for some but I like it.
It does not dry the lips out, but tingles. but do not think you are wearing chapstick. This is lipstick.
The packaging could be sturdier but it is not the worst.
The price is incredible.
I highly reccomend.

A nice enough drugstore MLBB lipstick. The shade is a pinky nude and very flattering against my fair/neutral skin. Not too cool, not too brown, easy to wear. The texture isn’t perfect – I prefer something more hydrating – but still OK at this price point. All that being said, I find the smell of Rimmel lipsticks really offputting: sickly sweet and sort of plasticky/artificial. I will not repurchase this because of the smell.

This is a pretty pale pinky color that looks nice on the lips. I do find it to be somewhat drying, but overall it is a decent drugstore lipstick. I would not repurchase, but I will use up what I have.

Rimmel shade ‘Goddess’/256 is the one that I find so hard to find. When I do I basically pay anything for it and buy it in multiples. It is that particular shade of wine/burgundy that, if not applied too heavily, makes peoples lips look like a young girls. Like something in a Rubens painting. Love it.

Airy Fairy. The name itself is enough to get me to buy it again.
Okay. This is a lovely little lipstick from our friends at Rimmel. It comes in your standard twist-up purple-y container. I haven’t had any problems with this separating in either my purse or my pocket and it seems fairly sturdy (I tend to carry my lip products in my pocket, because that way I don’t have to go hunting down my purse any time I want to touch up my lipstick).
The color itself is definitely smack dab in the cool category; not a warm note in this at all. Due to the pinkish color, I wouldn’t even say this is a neutral. Airy Fairy is a kind of pinky/taupey nudey/lavendery color that changes with the situation. I know that sounds weird, but once you apply this and look at it in different lights and with different clothes, you’ll understand. With certain light conditions, and with certain clothing, it can appear to be anywhere along the spectrum from a light pink to a neutral brownish pink to a taupey lavender and any color in between. The color itself doesn’t change; rather, it’s like it picks up color from what is around it, absorbs parts of it, and reflects parts of it back, so in each situation it changes slightly.
It isn’t glossy at all, but has a more satin finish. It definitely isn’t matte or flat. I haven’t noticed any shimmer. On my lips, it feels smooth and not sticky or pasty. It can feel kind of heavy if I apply too much, so I usually wipe it all off and totally reapply if I need to do more than a small touch up. Applying this is so easy, you don’t even really need a mirror. I personally don’t wear a gloss over it, because I just don’t feel like this needs to be glossed up. I don’t use a lip liner with it either, although you could. I also haven’t had an allergic reaction to it.
Yes, there is a slight scent; it reminds me of an Orange Julius. Honestly, there’s worse things a lipstick can smell like. It doesn’t taste like an Orange Julius, so there’s that.
The wear is about what you’d expect from a creamy, satin-y finish lipstick. It is under their “Lasting Finish” line and the claim on the website is that it lasts “up to 8 hours”. Not quite. I can get a couple, maybe three, hours out of this before touching up. Now, that may just be me…I like to rub my lips together when I’m wearing a lip product (habit, anxiety, just liking the feel, whatever) so maybe my lip products wear off faster. I also normally use a lip balm underneath my Rimmel lipsticks, because I feel that, on me, they can look a little heavy. I don’t care for that look on myself, and I find that a lip balm underneath cuts that heavy look a little and makes my lipsticks both apply smoother and feel nicer. Maybe that cuts the wear time, I don’t know. I’m not super convinced that ANY regular lipstick is gonna last eight hours, and reapplying isn’t that big of a deal anyway, so I’m not concerned about it. Any moisturizing lip balm will do; I use either eos (which goes on clear) or Lip Smackers in a neutral color, like Coca-Cola or Vanilla Coke. However, I do also wear it without a lip balm underneath. It’s not like it HAS to have a lip balm to work. If I forget to grab one, it isn’t a dealbreaker.
For around $5 USD at Walmart (and around that same price at other retailers), you can’t beat this. Airy Fairy is a versatile little lipstick that I have used for years and I don’t plan on stopping now. I am very pale with definite cool/pink undertones to my skin, reddish-brown hair, and grey eyes, and this complements me perfectly. This works in the winter when I’m pale and in the summer when I’m more tan. A light swipe goes with a more natural, neutral face; a little heavier application goes with a smokey eye and/or a heavier makeup look. I’ve worn it with jeans and I’ve worn it on date night and I’ve worn it to the funeral home. It just works with everything. It isn’t the only lip color I wear, but I do wear it a lot.
Just go buy it. You’ll thank me later.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this lipstick. I usually wear HE brands and have never been able to find a good neutral pinky nude lipstick at the drugstore for my NC30 skin tone (medium olive, yellow undertones) but I’m loving this shade. I honestly just spent weeks trying Tom Fords lipstick line looking for a good everyday shade of pinky nude that wouldn’t wash me out or be too bright and couldn’t find a good shade.. And I found this on a random Target shopping trip? May not be quite the Tom Ford formula.. But it’s 4.99 vs $50 and the perfect shade? Score!

I bought this, as it was listed as a “perfect dupe” for MAC’s Viva Glam V, which is my go-to every day, always perfect choice. Well… no way. This color is so one-dimensional and does nothing for me at all. I’m annoyed that I wasted my money — I could have put it toward the real thing! Airy Fairy is almost matte, drying, and unflattering to the extreme with my coloring. The pink has an almost bluish cast to it, and the MAC color has a browned-down tone to the pink. Rimmel offers a color called “Paradise” in this same line that is a zillion times nicer — a very browned-down pink. Go for that one.

I was looking for the perfect nude and comfortable to wear, and for me, this lipstick just is not. It feels drying and tugs on my lips when applying. It almost stings when it dries down…I don’t know if it’s the fragrance or some other ingredient, but I get this alot with Rimmel lipsticks. I also find it excentuates lip lines.
It is long wearing so I’ll give it that, and the colour is pretty, but the quality is just not impressive in my opinion overall.
I prefer lipstick to be more emollient and moisturizing, and I don’t get that from this lipstick.

“My lips, just better” 🙂 Very natural looking. I wouldn’t say it a true nude color. For me, it’s almost the same color as my lips. It doesn’t last really long, I have to reapply many times, but considering the low price and the beautiful natural color, I’m giving it 5 stars.
