Lipstick is my favourite thing in the world. I literally own more lipsticks than I do clothes (my house burned down so I don’t have many clothes). So naturally I consider it my life mission to find the perfect, long lasting matte lipstick.
So when I stumbled upon LaSplash cosmetics on Instagram you could imagine my excitement. I’ve been following them for months staring enviously at the people who own their lipsticks.
Now, I’m also freakishly organized about everything in my life, so by mid-September I was behind on what I refer to as “the holiday process”. This includes making the list (checking it twice), doing very thorough research on potential products, pricing and budgeting everything out, ACTUALLY BUYING THE PRESENTS and then wrapping them. I also do most of this by the end of October/early November.
I realized that this year I could get my friends lipsticks from LASplash because they’re reasonably priced. At $14 each they were perfect for my budget. What I did not realize as I was loading up my cart was that this was priced in American Dollars and that I had to pay a significant amount of shipping (all Canadians will understand this struggle). But I love my friends so to please 9 of them (and one of me), I payed over $160 to make us happy.
Today, I tried Till Midnight which is shown as orangey on their Instagram page. I was worried because orange is a very difficult colour to pull off.
I am so ridiculously in love with every single part of this lipstick. The formula, the colour, the way it hasn’t budged since I put it on!
I love it so much I ordered more and tomorrow night I’m going to test out one of those shades using the messiest food I know. Wings and beer. It will not be graceful, but it’s the ultimate test, and if it passes, consider me faithful to this brand for LIFE.
