First off, I can’t believe I am writing a review for a Kardashian makeup product, but here goes. I will preface this by saying this was in a multi-brand GWP lipstick kit, so I did not purchase this. But anyhow..this is surprisingly nice! I was to receive a nude shade and for whatever reason they sent me the shade called “Independent,” which is a straight-up berry shade on me. Applies smoothly, feels comfortable on the lips, leaves a nice subtle, flattering stain after being on for about 6 hours, and lasts pretty decently throughout dinner. The only ‘fault’ I had with this for me was this does accent my lip lines, making me look a little like the dreaded ‘old lady lips’. But I think if you have smooth lips or youthful lips, this might be very nice. As is, I am still pretty pleased with the performance. I did see something online that people seem to think this is a matte lipstick, but I do not see any ‘official’ word saying so. It is more of a matte finish, at least the shade I have. But it is not drying for me like a matte lipstick. Again, I do not see this ‘officially’ listed as a matte, but to address the finish, I would say this is a comfort matte or even a cream. No bleeding outside the lip line, no smudging nor smearing, this does not turn funny or funky colors on me as the day wears on nor get gummy nor gunky. Honestly if I did not get the ‘old lady lips’ look with this, I would rate this 5-stars/5-lippies. And I realize those of us who have lip lines are not the average, but I still feel a truly good lipstick does not accent the fine lines. And, had this actually been billed as a matte lipstick, I may understand. But again, imho, a truly good lipstick does not accent lip lines, matte finish or not. So, this rounds out for me at a solid 4-stars/4-lippies. Very nice, but by no means perfect. And given the current price for this ($9.99USD at Ulta; so this is a ‘drugstore lipstick’), I just feel there are better options out there, so I would not purchase one of these on my own. Still..not a bad lipstick at all. I can’t vouch for any of the other shades, as I have only tried “Independent,” but it is actually a pretty decent lipstick. Not a perfect lipstick, and is a little pricey for drugstore, but it is not a nice enough and lasts a decent amount of wear-time.
