I picked this up in Red Rush at Sally’s since it was on sale. It was a beautiful classic red that I really wanted to like, and it applied smoothly and evenly. The packaging seemed to be good quality as well. Unfortunately, my lips instantly burned when I put this on and I had to remove it. I’m giving this a lower rating since the company advertises the lip balm as being herbal, yet they included an unnecessary fake flavor in the ingredients (basically that strong crayola/synthetic vanilla smell in Maybelline and Covergirl lipsticks). I tried to scan the ingredients in the store before buying, but “flavor” was hard to see since the text was in small white letters over a clear cap. “Flavor” is also omitted from the ingredients on their website and in the photo provided already on here, which is misleading for those that may have allergies. It’s not the company’s fault I was allergic, but those that are commonly allergic to drugstore lipsticks should be careful with this since it’s not as natural as it tries to seem. It appears to be a great formula for those that can handle it, but it wasn’t for me.

I have this in Cabaret, which is a *REALLY* close dupe for the Kat Von D Studded Kiss lipstick in L’Ecole Des Femmes. That one is just a touch brighter/pinker. Cabaret is a bright matte coral pink. I have both, and I prefer the easier-to-work-with formula of this pencil.
The formula is matte, like 93% matte on a scale of 100. Some satiny-ness does peek through. This pencil is incredibly pigmented and creamy to apply. The pencil shape makes it easy to skip liner, which is awesome because I do need definition with these intense shades. It wears super well, lasts a long time, is comfortable on the lips, doesn’t emphasize lines or get caught on flakes. I do have to reapply a couple times a day after eating/drinking, but there is only some slight fading and reapplication isn’t a nightmare like an uber-matte formula. They’re a little drying but don’t destroy your lips some other formulas. Wear well over a balm too.
Honestly it’s a super great formula at a low price point (I picked mine up plus a Palladio blush, which I was also very impressed with, for BOGO 1/2 off at Ulta) and I totally recommend checking them out. I’m gonna pick up some more shades myself.
EDIT: I also got Spicy Peach (warmish light peachy nude) and Pizzazz Pink (cool lavender pink) and they’re also bomb. You should really try some of these if you’re into highly pigmented mattes!
