I decided to see what the fuss was about with Kat Von D’s liquid lipstick line. I asked for this product and received it as a gift several years ago since I did not want to pay for a higher priced product I wasn’t sure of. At first I was very pleased with the formula and longevity. However, after using similar products from other brands, I no longer have a high opinion of Kat Von D’s liquid lipstick line. This shade in particular goes on slightly streaky, which is an easy fix, but has to be reapplied after eating and drinking. That said, this product lasts about four to six hours for me. The long, slim wand lacks precision the and packaging is a bit inconvenient since it is not compact. The doe foot applicator, though, is the best I have used. The scent of this product is quite neutral which is one of the few upsides to this product.
There are better products out there for cheaper.
Pros:
-good colour range
-creamy formula
-good doe foot applicator
Cons:
-4-6hr wear
-inconvenient packaging
-wand lacks precision

I use to love her old liquid formulas. It would stay put and never move. Now her with her newest color I’m finding my self having reapply constantly. Some colors formula last better than others.

Applicator is too long ; really not practical for application. Also, very pretty lipstick for around .. two hours.!?!!? Is this even supposed to be long lasting?I literally had NONE left yesterday when i ate an hamburger. So disappointed.

The color is simply amazing.
It glides on easily, but its very hard to remove. It lasts long if you put on a layer, let it dry, dabble on some powder and then add another layer.
It doesnt last through a full meal though, so you have to go touch up – BUT, when you do touch up, it just crumbles, looks weird and feels icky.
I would buy again just because i havent found a liquid lip that lasts that long.

I love this lipstick. This is the perfect red, great for any skintone, the color is vibrant, the packaging is just gorgeous, and it’s easy to work with. I wore it all summer but less now though, because it is a bit drying. It holds on greatly and in warmer months it’s really perfect. For winter I put most of my liquid mats aside and take out the more classic formulas.

I have mixed feelings on this one. It is a beautiful color and pretty long lasting as well. It is very drying though and there can be quite a bit of transfer when eating or drinking.

The PERFECT cool toned red. As a red lipstick lover, this is my absolute go to. I wore this for my wedding and it lasted 12+ hours with only one touch up. Highly recommend.

I do love this product. I’ve not had any problems with patchiness or color flaking off. But I’ve also recently tried the Jordana sweet cream matte liquid lipsticks and for 5$ in the shades I’ve tried so far ( tiramisu and rose macaron) they outlast KVD and are just as comfortable. So for that reason I think I will buy Jordana instead of rebuying from KVD. Outlaw shows up as true red on my skin with no orange undertones. It is a beautiful color.

I tried this brand in Sephora and was glad I tried before buying. Super uncomfortable feeling, drying formula that started flaking off in the center quickly. Save your money and go for colour pop

The pros: The color is absolutely beautiful. It’s a neutral red with an extremely subtle gold sheen to it that helps to make the lips look less dry and dead. It does also last quite a long time before flaking a bit in the center.
The cons: This literally never dries down in the corners of my mouth, which is a very weird and uncomfortable feeling. It also does transfer a bit on the lip line and that corner-of-the-mouth area even after it’s been given ample time to dry, which is annoying. Also, while the tip is pretty precise and holds a good amount of product, I have an issue with applying this where if the applicator has too much product it creates kind of a line on my lip line. And it is quite drying. Those things, though, I can kind of put up with- put a lip liner in the corners, wipe the tip off before doing the lip line, make sure my lips are moisturized. What I can’t deal with is that after about 5-ish hours, it just looks patchy and bad. The color isn’t gone, it’s just no longer even, like a darker color in some places and lighter in others. And of course reapplying more on top to fix it just makes more flaking happen. Lip balm works too, but at that point why not just wear a cream lipstick?
Because of those issues, I’ve mostly just been using this to extend the wear of my cream lipsticks by putting it underneath, and that it does pretty well, and it’s cheaper to use something like this rather than a liner which’d run out faster when used all over the lips.
