   I bought this now-discontinued color off Amaxon since it wasn’t on the Besame website and when I finally opened the tube I was shocked — the color is an interesting golden orange frost. Now when I hear ‘coral’ I think of something brighter and more orange than red, not this. Still it’s a pretty shade that reminds me of a shade my mom owned decades ago.

   I received this product in my Wantable box so I can’t comment on the price. When I opened it, I was surprised by the shape of the lipstick, but it really doesn’t detract from application. I was also afraid that the colour wouldn’t work on my skin tone (about NW15) but I think it would work on almost anyone! It is a little drying so I put a balm underneath. I think the packaging is cute, I am not a fan of vintage packaging though. I probably wouldn’t repurchase this because of the price, the strange tip and the packaging.

   These lipsticks are small but pack a powerful punch. They are creamy and super pigmented, comfortable to wear and act like a long last lipstick although they do not feel like one on and are not that. I am enamored of Gabriella Hernandez’ ultra feminine vision and style. The design of these is no exception. The classic bullet design makes for perfect application without a lip brush. Their pettiness ensures that you never go outside the lines, and perfect application, plus if you use the method described, the tips seem to keep their shape. I also think the reviewer who said “awareness” was important when returning the cap to the tube since it does extend a bit beyond the rim was correct. But I think that adds to the feminine allure of this product. This product celebrates womanhood in all it’s complicated glory!!

   I was lucky enough to purchase the entire color range when Besame had it’s huge sale so for that price I would certainly repurchase again. At the regular price, I would only re purchase those colors which best suited me. But yes certainly worth a re-purchase: perfectly formulated, perfectly pigmented, femininely and perfectly presented and designed. What a beautiful product!!

   Coral: This color is a true orange coral with a light frost. Very warm, not pink toned at all. That said it’s gorgeous, a color reminiscent of my grandmother’s lips when she would wear this color. Vibrant in the summer and glorious with any tanned skin tone. It’s creamy but because it’s a frost, not as creamy as some of the other Besame colors.

   I remember maaaany moons ago being identified by a Prescriptives MA as being in the Y/O (yellow/orange) color family. I got the best lipgloss then in a little grey tin that had a distinct orange tint.

   That’s what this this lipstick reminds me of. While the color looks scary and kind of dark, the effect on my face is one of those “just right” moments when you know something works.

   Just the thought of orange-colored lipstick with gold shimmer might scare you, but I’m telling you, you have to check this one out. I need to play with different lipglosses to see the different effects I can get with this. I’m a NC20, for reference. You’d think this might be too warm, but I don’t think it is. What a terrific color for Spring and Summer!

   I’m very impressed with the quality of the Besame products I’ve purchased, especially the lipsticks and eyeshadows.

   Please note: Coral is one of the colors being discontinued (“Au Revoir”), and is included in the Enchanting Lipstick Set in Neutral that’s being discontinued, also. I’m thinking of getting a back-up, that’s how much I love this.

   Coral was part of the neutral set that my mom ordered for me. I was afraid that all of the colors except for merlot were going to be too warm toned for me. I was pleasantly surprised by coral; although it is warm somehow it looks great on me. I never would have picked this color for myself but I see it becoming an everyday staple. It’s a deep peach shade, meaning it’s not bright or pastel. It has a very slight shimmer and is less creamy than other Besame lipsticks.

   I am a sucker. Yes, it is true. No, don’t try to make me feel better. It’s ok. I know. I would buy this lipstick again despite the fact that the entire product from base to tip (including the case) is only 2 1/8th inches long. And the actual lipstick is only about an inch long. But, it’s so dang cute. I mean, seriously! It’s like bulldog puppy butt cute. And, on top of the adorableness of the tiny lipstick and the beauty of the packaging, it’s also a nice color. I’m pale neutral/cool with green eyes and some corals can be completely foul looking on me, but this isn’t. So, here is my overall take on this lipstick: If you really want a bang for your buck, this is probably not the way to go. If you want a beautiful (tiny) vibrant (teeny) slightly dry (small) but longlasting (and minute) coral lipstick, this is an excellent choice.

   This lipstick is NOT coral. It is a warm straight peach color with gold shimmer. It is a very warm, pretty color. The gold shimmer is finely milled and not at all over-the-top. It is a true warm peach, and is NOT orangey or brown on the lips at all. Just a golden-shimmered warm peach. This lipstick seems to be the matching lipstick color to Besame’s “Sun Kissed” blush. Looks beautiful paired with Sun Kissed blush and NARS Night Star eyeshadow (sparkly flesh color). It comes in a GORGEOUS vintage gold lipstick tube. The tube is small, but you only need a small amount of lipstick because it is very pigmented. Very pretty! Will purchase again! 🙂
